Books and candy. Yes, I eat to much sugar.

I have a few things I seem to need or crave but nothing that rises to the level of an addiction. The strongest of these being my morning coffee. I also need my books and to be on or near bodies of water.

My morning coffee! And I used to have a major sugar addiction, but managed to kick it. Also embarrassingly addicted to my devices: iPhone, MacBook, and my Kindle reader.

Two cups of black coffee in the morning, sewing, and definitely our family, also Gardenweb. You folks always show there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Music...but it has always been so. Wouldn't want to live without it.

One of mine is plants.

My dog. Coffee. My daily bubble bath. My garden. Leaf and stem satsuma mandarins in season (I can't get enough of them - eat 4-5 a day!).

And this year, I have developed an addiction to streaming. It's the only thing that got me through 6+ months of the election nonsense.

Applegate cured salami slices. I buy a package every week.

It use to be growing roses, had over 60 bushes, but cut it back to half that number. Now it is chocolate. I have to have some, even a tiny piece, everyday.

There are so many things I love, but I would not call them addictions.

I hate to admit it, but since March, I think I spend way too much time on this device.

Well I just learned I am addicted to afternoon coffee as well as morning coffee. Skipped afternoon coffee yesterday, woke up with a headache.

Horses, cats, antique roses, waterlilies, Michael Berry show, RC Cola.

Coffee, native Ga. plants, watching deer, rabbits, turkeys and raccoons in the woods. Also my dog.

Plants, especially orchids and palms, dogs, chocolate, coffee, and hot weather.

The KT family, books, Teatime Matinee with my DH (tea, cookies, streaming a movie or series for an hour), good chocolate -- at Christmas, Ghirardelli peppermint bark and Toblerone.

I can manage cold weather (rarely out in it), but I *need* the sun. Love my wool socklets at night. My arthritic back requires realignment with Merrell shoes.

Dogs, reading, Facebook, donuts for breakfast

positive people, laughing, reading, listening.

Cigarettes, coffee and reading (Kindle, hardbacks, newspapers).

Sciency stuff! Philosophical stuff that will lead me to an improved me! Dates and figs three a day of each! Of course animals that goes almost without saying. I wear a live cat around my neck a ton of the time at home.

Be still my heart for each of those! I'm sure there's more...

Daily hikes in the woods, my cats and dogs, coffee , reading , antiques, Netflix, gardening, and tending to a ton of indoor plants.

Books and screen time.

Definitely books! Sister-in-law just gave me about 30 volumes, ending my book drought. Big sigh of relief! Other addictions are KT, online news, walking, being outdoors in the fresh air. Sugar also, but I've managed to beat it back to a manageable level! lol!

I am addicted to my car's GPS. I grew up and learned to drive in a city that has a very methodical grid of streets and a very tall landmark building, to orient oneself to which direction they are facing.

But then I moved to a city with a very confusing (for me, lol) layout. There is no tall landmark or city skyline to use for orientation. In my own area of the city, I'm fine, but there are two areas that my kids refer to as my 'Bermuda Triangles.' When I'd have to drive into those areas, I'd become completely baffled with regard to direction, inevitably heading North when I meant to go South. It was hard for me to know if I was heading East or West, unless the sun was visible and rising or setting.

So I would tape a piece of paper onto my dashboard, that said only, R, R, L, L, L. R, L, meaning 'right' or 'left.' I had memorized the streets I needed to turn onto, but once I got to them, I simply couldn't tell which direction would lead me North as opposed to South, so I needed to know whether a right or left turn would head me in the proper direction. GPS now saves me that embarrassment, lol.

Caffeine. I got a caffeine jones, it doesn't have to be coffee, it just has to be there on time.

Diet Coke (I need caffeine and don’t drink coffee) and HGTV

My little Mia dog, hubby, my morning iced coffee, my electronic devices phone, tablet, chromebook etc. My wonderful yellow go chair, it gets me to the places I want to go to. Flowers and plants!

Stok cold brew coffee, which is becoming very scarce, Blendy Sticks (instant coffee packs from Japan) and Youtube.

Pink,hearts,christmas, and my SO.

sweets, some reality shows, & the beach if I can ever get there again.

I have always been a bit of an adrenalin junkie although I don't really think of it as an addiction since it's not something I habitually do. I just tend to enjoy activities where that rush is more likely to happen now and then. Plus I'm slowed down some since my younger days.

Eating! I can't stop. Once, I went one day without eating, but at nightfall, I shamefully gorged. I thought about attending EA (Eater Anonymous), but decided it was pointless for me. People who stuck with it began to look like Zombies. I developed a notion that it was okay if I ate with moderation. I can stop anytime I want to, however, that desire has not plagued me as yet and I feel I am in control. At least, I am not a 'closet' eater hiding my vice from my loved ones. Sadly, I have noticed that my family has taken up the same habit, and with that many doing food, it is getting expensive. I feel responsible for their (and my) plight. I may succumb to knocking over the Good Humor truck the next time it goes by.

At one time it was cigarettes. I can't say I quit them the last time I quit, I just lost interest, traded one addiction for another maybe.

Now it's my computers. When I was smoking my last cigarettes, I was smoking rollups. I needed strong but didn't want to pay Florida prices for Camel Regular (regular is non-filter).

I was also playing around with a little programming for my own use, and the enjoyment/challenge. Everything I wrote had bugs and each bug took time to work out. Many times I'd feel like taking a break, rolling up a cigarette and relaxing for a bit but... just one more line to write, just one more thing to try to get the code to work. I didn't want to take time to roll a cigarette, often times the need to write another line kept me ever getting around to rolling that cigarette, until I no longer even wanted it.

Now I eat too much and don't get enough exercise. I sometimes think smoking, as unhealthy as it was, may have been a less unhealthy addiction than the addictions that replaced it. :-)

Cigarettes & Alcohol. Replaced with food & coffee. I have to agree with Richard 😁 !!! Cigarettes were harder to give up than liquor and I loved and still miss them both.

Books and flowers. I don't have a bouquet on my table right now and am having some serious difficulty.

I'm dismayed to see *any* nicotine addicts here. Please, please, dedicate yourself to quitting. I don't want to be missing any of you just because you won't persevere to find your lifesaver in the ocean of addiction.

I was a light smoker for 10 years, not realizing I was addicted until I quit. That was nearly 50 years ago. My lungs are still damaged, but repaired enough that I've survived two episodes of pneumonia, one requiring hospitalization. If you need motivation to quit, visit a ward where grey-skinned smokers struggle for every breath. Many will never be discharged, moving instead to ICU, then the morgue.
