curb appeal help for this 1970s house
Comments (8)Have you ever sat at a dining table with a big bouquet of flowers on it, such that you couldn't see the person sitting directly opposite, without shifting your body to the side? It's very annoying when you can't see someone's face when you're trying to have a conversation with them. The same situation is kind of going on with the face of this house and that low-branched tree. It has a low branched trunking structure that, if exposed, would not look all that great. It's a case where I think it would be better if the tree were removed. Start with new trees in right places....See More1940s brick raised ranch - exterior and curb appeal help!
Comments (3)I like the last mock up except the windows should all be the same , I have never tried painting roof shingles but does not sound like a good idea.. Good plan to remove the bays and those awnings. If the awnings were actually controlling the light and heat from the sun just use soal dhades inside to do the same thing. Please do not paint the brick...See MoreHelp Improving Curb Appeal for Midcentury Raised Ranch
Comments (8)I like the porch proposed above. It does give dimension to the flat fascade and makes a good way to transition from the brick to siding. If you don't add a porch I would suggest painting the brick and the siding the same color to unify the entire composition. The proposed front door looks great. Not quite as sure about the stepping stone path across the front of the porch but do very much like the side walk from the new steps. You could also consider either adding a window on the second floor (if the interior arrangement allows) or changing the size of one or more of the existing windows to give some variety. Good luck!...See More1970s Exterior Reno Help Needed!
Comments (6)I would go a whole different direction. Remove everything ‘traditional’, the shutters, the front door, the garage doors. Front door, and garage doors should be plain. Maybe wood. Paint everything dark charcoal or black fox by sherwin williams. Invest in great landscaping. It’s never going to be a cottage....See Moreapple_pie_order
