Exterior color ideas with brick home
Comments (23)It's so funny...for me the dark window trim and muntins always give a house a more foreboding look...the beige or the white to me are always more "friendly" and approachable.... I think the beige with the black can work well too. [Traditional Exterior[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-exterior-home-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_736~s_2107) by Seattle Architects & Designers David Olson Architect I just love this navy door with the brick. Comments (4)These things jump out immediately: 1) Remove the shutters. Shutters vs Shudders 2) the foundation color needs to either be the same color as your brick or a darker shade of the brick. 3) the walkway is too narrow, it needs to be at least 42 inches wide, or even wider 4) Your home can use a new landscape plan with wider beds. Landscaping will be the very best thing you can do to amp up the exterior of your home IMO. 5) How is your roof? I don't know if it is worn or just discolored from debris. I think a gray/green color would look great on your siding and garage. Or you could go with a deeper warmer gray. I like this green below with the brick. I would paint all of the siding and the concrete around the garage door including the garage the green you see below (or similar) and then go with your blue door....See MoreExterior color ideas (Brick, Stucco, Roof)
Comments (9)"...Also we are a bit concerned that the roof may be a bit too encompassing..." You are right! Fortunately, we humans never seen buildings in 2-D elevations, such as depicted on drawings. The purpose of these drawings is convey needed information about the construction of a building, and not to illustrate what a building will actually look like in 3-D. For that, perspectives are necessary. So your huge roof will not look as huge and overbearing as it appears on the elevations. But it will dwarf your house and dominate your view of the house. Unfortunately, this is a common occurance when a drafter or CAD operator designs a house by unilaterally focusing on a floor plan, and thereafter simply plopping roof trusses on the walls of the floorplan. Looking at your roof plan, and floor plan outline, there's a quick and easy approach for a completely different roofing scheme which would greatly reduce your roof massing, but it requires eliminating or changing the roof over what I assume is a back porch. I hope natural light in the interiors of your house is not a major criterion, since you appear to have a very large, deep house, almost square in shape. It's going to be dark in there, regardless of your orientation....See MoreSuggestions for paint colors to update exterior?
Comments (6)I’m currently crushing on this house with vertical cedar siding. The colors remind me of your house: The garages are also cedar, stained darker. Obviously a different style home, but I just wanted to show the vertical siding, black metal roof, etc. I would not paint your brick. Agree with different posts and freshening up the landscaping. A modern style front door would look great (maybe you’ve already got a nice door, I can’t tell). I just saw this … I wouldn’t go with a green quite this vivid, but more of an earthy olive tone: Source If your brick has any gray tones at all, this is nice:...See MoreSammie J
