Burning ears.

This common expression, if someone is talking about, that your ears will burn is as old a Chaucer. In Troilus and Criseyde, he wrote, "And we shall speak of thee somewhat, I think, when thou art gone, to make thine ears glow." It does go back to classical times. Pliney wrote: "When our ears do glow and tingle, some do talk of us in our absence."
