First you do the lighting before even choosing the color for the cabinets . What you have is useless for kitchen lighting get some pot lights all LEDs 4000K then srat choosing all the other elements. The floors will dictate all the choices ans IMO no gray will work well with those floors so another reason to wait for lighting. Are you keeping the carpet and the kitchen floors ?To be honest I would not spend one penny on this kitchen until you have lived with it for awhile that work triangle is bad , there is hardly any drop zone for the stove .As for hardware it is always best in tiny spaces to keep things simple so a stainless sink amd all stailess hardware.

I should have clarified. This is not my primary home. Is just a weekend home at the beach. None of the floors will be staying. Have been told by a company that luxury vinyl floor is best, because sand will eventually scratch real hardwoods. I do not like carpeting. POT lights have already been ordered. Thanks for the input.

The luxury vinyl wood is a great idea. We have been very happy with it in our daylight basement

the rest of the house is already oak flooring. The vinyl product looks very much like wood.

As for cabinet knobs am tired of the metal knobs in all different finishes so i am using furniture grade hardware on my cabinets

i have stainless steel backsplash of 13 foot cabinets and corian and granite Countertops which are hard surfaces so i wanted to go soft and organic for the handles My upper cabinets are white. In order to soften and simplify the eye i used the big wooden chest knobs in the same white. they dont compete for your eye which is always a consideration: especially with all the other appointments a typical kitchen provides Also gives a decorated feel i am told.
