Friday's Musin'
Comments (3)This is one of those days I feel more in harmony with the universe. I can almost feel the biorhythm chart changing. It was one of those genuine autumn days, starting off warmish and smelling of leaves, then going grey and a wonderful and much needed rain came down until after dark. My primal nesting urge overtook me, and I scurried through one of my pantries, picking each tin up like Silas Marner and stacking it neatly in its own little section. I got tired of feeling the need to wear steel toed boots to fix supper and also made up my list of need to buy vs. need to eat foods. I am becoming my mother, I think, as I must have been fixated on mandarin oranges, and obviously partook of several sales on tomatoes and green chilies. Mama's fixation was on large black garbage bags. LOL. Supper was your standard stick to the ribs meal, and after we foundered ourselves on beef and homemade noodles, tried to demolish some pies still hot from the oven. The dishwasher is running now, and the house is quiet. The dh is already sleeping off the carb load. I shan't go up and quilt tonight, and I sat myself down and wrote two personal letters today, so have that done for awhile. I had Allison Kraus on the CD player and it was just the perfect day for Country Western. I don't play it often, but some days are just made for it....See MoreFriday's Question.........
Comments (46)Yes I do. Last night at the beach bar-I consoled a younger gal in the ladie's room-she was sobbing uncontrollably. I walked over to her & asked if she needed a hug, which she said "Yes, please?" She told me her 8 yr old son was riding his bike a year ago yesterday & a car went out of control, hit him & killed him. And...it was her birthday! Hubs had brought her out for dinner & music to cheer her up. Anyway-some gal comes around each night selling flowers & this bereaved mother bought 6 pink roses & brought them over to me and said 'thank you for being my angel'. I was touched beyond words....See MoreFNM Friday Night Music: "Like"

Comments (37)lol - Lars, 'Sexy and I Know It' is a song on one of my exercise playlists, specifically one where I'm doing an incline hike on the treadmill. I dislike most cardio (especially that one), but know I have to do it and music helps, so I developed a bunch of playlists that go along with different workouts. That song in particular has a good beat for what I'm doing, and never fails to make me giggle inside, which takes my focus off of the exercise for a few minutes and gets me through it!...See MoreUser
