If the room is to be completely redone, I would seriously hold off on picking a light, and I would also consider not moving it toward the fireplace, centered to the room will be much better. to be honest I probably would not want to hang a fixture with wood in here since you have exposed wood walls, infact I would probably want to not hang anything at all. What are you doing to the room? are you covering the exposed timber?

No, logs are staying. Other walls and ceiling will be sheetrocked. New hardwood floors. The light is currently in a horrible position—off center in the room, and right where you’d be walking behind the couch.

so with wood floors and wood walls, I wouldnt also want another type of wood... if you get what im saying.
