I think chrome would be fine for knobs/pulls. If you are interested, I think Rejuvenation Hardware has those offset hinges in chrome, you might also be able to source them elsewhere. It's hard to really see what they look like painted on my monitor, but once you get the knobs on, you will know whether it works or not. Nice update!

Trend, as far as I can judge, is gold, copper, and flat black. Of course other finishes are widely used by most. But I wouldn't worry about trends so much. What I would worry about-is how my chosen finish going to look like. For example chrome or nickel look good both in cheaper options and in more expensive ones. Brass or gold or oil-rubbed bronze can be extremely beautiful, but then they would cost more. And if they are cheap they sometimes won't look that great. I think some level of mixing finishes is perfectly acceptable, and can ever be extremely beautiful at times, but requires confidence and good eye. But if for example you are going with dark levers, black or bronze, and the hardware in bath is pewter or nickel-I think it will work. If levers are black and hardware is brass-would also work. Now, mixing "silver" finishes and gold ones-here I'd be more careful, because that's much harder to pull off. My preferred finishes are copper, polished nickel, antique silver, antique brass, pewter..all of these usually require special order and longer lead time, just something to keep in mind. I went with polished nickel in master bath-frankly, if I knew it'd be such a pain, I'd reconsider. As for the contrast-I think bronze or black would look amazing with white doors. Unless you have doors that you dislike so much you'd rather unsee them..:) I hope to see other answers here too, choosing hardware is an interesting topic.

Will your tile be installed floor to ceiling? If that is the case, I like the softer, warmer color on the right that is less busy to the eye. It is also reminds me of the tile I chose for my bathroom, which has not yet been installed. Here's mine: Wall Floor Accent However, I like the tile on the left too. I don't think you can go wrong with either one :)

Well, here's an opinion. I have a personal hatred of that kind of shower door. I'd take it out of there. Are you removing the tub, too? Do you need a tub in there? If not, I'd go with just a shower, but if the tub is a necessity, remove the sliding apparatus and just use a nice shower curtain that can be thrown in the wash and replaced inexpensively. Sure, extend the flooring in there if that is what you like. But I agree with Debbi W. that the flooring doesn't appear out of place, it's nice and neutral. The vanity looks fine to me. But if the finish is worn, I guess you can pay to refinish or paint, I don't know what that costs. Chrome fixtures are nice. Replace the mirrors. To me they look 80's-dated, and mirrors can be had inexpensively. I saw mirrors for $80 at Lowes, or Home Goods.... I'd lose the chair rail. No backsplash made of counter material, if you need a backsplash, do a nice complementary (to the countertop) large tile (not those mini-glass tiles--too much grout), I'd do a plainish tile if it were me. Backsplash made of counter material is not offensive to me, just not my preference. For lighting in a bathroom, like a long light-bar above the vanity, with maybe 6 down lights, because I like to be able to really see the mirror. I also like a flush-mount ceiling fixture, so there is some light in the shower as well. And get some chrome hardware to match the fixtures! Good luck.
