Post what is real then, if this is all wrong. Post the current whole house plan. Then something clearer that stuff with unclear dimensions, boxes and arrows and marker on it. It’s confusing the issue, not helping.

I endorse what mama goose has to say. Move the microwave over, and make the island more functional by moving the prep sink.

I like the sink centered with the window. I also am not sure if you have a sink in the island. If you do I’d center it. It looks odd when it’s off to the side. The fridge is ok there.

To add, I wouldn’t center the prep sink on the island. Get it far enough away from the edge to have some landing space at the end, and then leave the other side bigger so that you have a bigger working prep space at that end.

But the window landed up in a different spot, so it changed the whole layout... now the fridge is toob far down next to the table.

And i wanted to use my double ovens.

So this is just a layout of the area...the basic idea.

I never want to cross in front of the range to get from fridge to sink aI do not think a sink needs to be under a window function first IMO. Mamagoose has great ideas BTW your architect is IMO almost always a bad kitchen designer so get a KD now.

I like the most recent layout you posted, but add a prep sink. I don’t like the fridge and ovens directly behind the island.
If you don’t add a prep sink, the fridge should go left of the dishwasher and ovens nearer the pantry. I don’t know why you think there wouldn’t be enough room for the fridge by the table, but that is a convenient spot for it.

I’d swap the fridge and the double ovens. Ovens used much less often. Move microwave to the other wall. Probably right of cooktop. 50” space between sink and island is not too much. Gives plenty of room for people to move around that busy zone, even if dishwasher is open. There should be a similar sized aisle between island and fridge.

Wide aisles allow two or three people to comfortably move around the kitchen at the same time. Bravo!! We see too many kitchens with skinny aisles and oversized islands which barely have space for two people to work. Your counter seating is located outside the work area, another good choice.
Even if all the appliance doors are open at the same time the whole family can move around easily.
I like it.

IMO fridges should not be next to ovens as a general principle, because one needs to be super hot, the other super cold. This will be expensive and a waste of precious energy.

Yes, TANGERINEDOOR, I wish I could find another way, but the double ovens need to go next to the fridge on the backwall. With the double door slider entry from the yard, I cant put the table right in front of it, otherwise you'd have to keep going around the table to get to the kitchen, if you come in from the yard...and if I hug the left side with the table, I'm right on top of the fridge, if I hug the right, I'm on top of the couches.

Had the window been installed in the right location, I could have followed the last plan. Since it's 7.5 ft from the wall now, I can't fit the fridge on that side. I could kick myself that I agreed to leave it in the wrong location. I wasn't thinking about the kitchen remodel at the time.

hermothersdaughter, I thought about switching, but I used a standard fridge, and I was told it would look funny sticking out farther than the double ovens.... I'm afraid now to take that chance.

Muriel Thompson, what if i removed the prep sink completely? I like the full island, but maybe that's a bad idea?
