Need Some Help Planning Out My Future U Shaped House

Hey all. I am planning on building in the next 2-3 years and I am beginning to design and come up with ideas for the future build. I was wondering if you all had any plans or tips for saving cost. Below is what I’m wanting to do. I’ve also (attempted) to add some photos of what I very roughly plan the front and back to look like to help out.

I’ve decided on a 2 story U shaped home with a courtyard in the back with a pull. The kicker with this is that one of the legs is going to be a pole barn/garage (unfinished) for cost and efficiency purposes. It will attach to the house via a screened in patio that enters into the mud room.
There will be 2 bedrooms (one master) with 2.5 bathroom on the first floor (roughly 2500sf) and 2 beds 1 bath and a bonus room (roughly 600sf) on the second floor. The second leg to the U is going to be the master bedroom. With the room being in the very back looking out the farm.

The area is very low cost, I’m building on family land so won’t have to pay for that and I’ll be able to get much of the building materials at cost. (Family owns a lumber yard). I’m also a project manager for a commercial general contractor so I plan on manager the construction myself. I guess what I really want to know is how feasible is this? And what do I need to try and avoid? I’m wanting to stay under 450k total. I know it sounds silly having a contractor ask this but I manage schools and federal projects. I’m not going to pretend I am an expert when it comes to house design and lay out. Any feedback good or bad is appreciated. Thanks.
