Gregg Farm Services - never shopping there again!
Comments (7)I feel so bad for the lady coming all the way down here from Missouri only to get shafted by these people. I only live about 1 mile from them which made it convient for me. I needed some work done on my weedeater and riding tractor mower. Last fall before putting the weedeater away for the year, I took it to the tractor and mower building at GREG'S FARM SERVICES to be weatherized, have all new gas lines replaced and have them order a new bump cap for me. 3 months later I finally got my weedeater back. The man (no names) in the shop TOLD ME IT WAS FIXED AND WORKING GOOD!!!! I paid for their services and left. When the time came to use my weedeater in the first part of spring, I couldn't get it to start to save my life and it was seeping gas down the gas lines. I took it back explaining the problems. The man told me I was trying to start it wrong. I HAVE HAD THIS WEEDEATER FOR 4 YEARS AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO START IT!! COME ON!!!! Again left it at the shop and told him I'd be waiting for him to call when it was working properly and not leaking gas down the lines. A week later he calls and says it's ready to go, works great and he used it behind their building. So home it goes again with his instructions on how to start it. I tried it his way. It did start, but it wouldn't stay running. So I take it back again and told this guy it wouldn't stay running and the gas was still leaking down the fuel lines like before. By now I'm really getting ticked off. 3 weeks go by & he didn't call me. I called him. He said he forgot to call. Ok, I'll give his the benefit of doubt. I went down and picked it up for the 5th time I had to take it back again. I used my weedeater for about 15 - 20 feet and the brand new fuel line fell out of the gas tank. I re-attached the fuel line to the tank, started it up again (my way) and the lines pop out again after about the same distance cutting. OK, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! I went down there, found the man I'd been dealing with for several months now and blew my top. He looked at me and asked "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT?" He looked down at my legs seeing the grass on me from what little I was able to cut before loosing all of my gas and said, "LOOKS LIKE IT'S WOKING TO ME!" If I told him once, I repeated myself several times, "The line WON'T stay in the tank" He then proceeds to tell me there is supposed to be a washer on the inside of the tank to hold the line and he didn't have one to put in it when I first brought it in. I LOST IT! I BLATENTLY ASKED HIM 'WHY DID YOU SEND IT HOME WITH ME THE FIRST TIME KNOWING FULL WELL THAT IT WASN'T FIXED RIGHT?" He started jumping all over me saying he was sick and tired of people taking things out on him. He then said, Leave it, we'll fix it. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. And at this time they have my riding tractor mower. I couldn't help wonder what shape it would be in. All that was supposed to be done to it was change the oil, sharped the 3 blades, put on a brand new gas tank and level the deck. I got it back the same day as my weedeater a week later for the umpteeth time. They did sharpen the blades, put a new gas tank on and change the oil. BUT......My mower is missing the center blade,(out of the 3 blades it had on it when I sent it down there) the deck is all screwed up and the housing cover over the left pully has been BROKEN off instead of unscrewed. I KNOW IT CAN BE UNSCREWED BECAUSE I TOOK IT OFF ABOUT A YEAR AGO TO REPLACE THE MAIN DRIVE BELT MYSELF! Now I have to find someone who knows how to weld it back on. OH....the screws are still on it by the way. I guess it's true that if a woman goes to have something mechanical repaired ALL guys think we're stupid and don't know what we're talking about. If a woman can describe in detail and name the parts by the proper name where is that stupid. THIS IS NO LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP......IT'S TOTAL HATE!!! I had no problems what-so-ever when Whitfield's Farm Supply! I wouldn't even go in there now to buy a dog bone! It would probably be poisoned or something!...See MoreThe BFF I Never Met Came To Dinner
Comments (28)Yeah, I'm sure Clive will come to the rescue. What I made for us was half a recipe, the whole recipe makes a lot. Here it is: Cognac Fruit Dip 12 ounces cream cheese 1 cup confectioners sugar, unsifted 7 ounces marshmallow creme 1 cup sour cream 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 teaspoons almond extract 2 teaspoons cinnamon (I've made this with regular cinnamon and also with freshly grated cinnamon - to tell you the truth, I like the freshly grated better. You could just use a little less of the cinnamon from the jar. See what you like best.) 3 tablespoons cognac Half Recipe 6 ounces cream cheese ý cup confectioners sugar, unsifted 4 ounces marshmallow crème ý cup sour cream 1 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 teaspoons almond extract 1 teaspoons cinnamon (I've made this with regular cinnamon and also with freshly grated cinnamon - to tell you the truth, I like the freshly grated better. You could just use a little less of the cinnamon from the jar. See what you like best.) 3 tablespoons cognac (optional) In small bowl of electric mixer, cream the cheese until soft and smooth. Add the confectioners sugar and beat until well-blended. Add the sour cream and the rest of the ingredients. Blend just until well-combined. Cover and chill several hours before serving....See MoreNever mind dinner, What Do You Put In The Lunch Box??
Comments (34)I bought a few of these: http://www.amazon.com/Thermos-Stainless-King-SK3000MB4-Midnight/dp/B0017IFSIS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1320542508&sr=8-3 My kids/DH tell me that their lunches are still piping hot when they're opened. I make soups or stews and freeze them. In the morning, I pop the frozen square (if I've forgotten to thaw it) into a pot or the microwave and warm it up. Add noodles if needed, put into preheated thermos and we're good to go. My teens like it. I pack a tuna noodle salad about every other week. I will sometimes use canned salmon instead, but they prefer the tuna. Some days, my husband will make a frozen pizza early in the morning, let it cool and the kids take slices of that to eat cold. They really love that. They get hot lunch at school once a week, on "Chef Day", when there's something really good that they want. Once in awhile I still buy lunchmeat and let them make a few sandwiches with it, but it's not very often. We can't send PB&J with my daughter because there are several kids at her school with severe nut allergies and she worries about causing a problem for them. Carrots are the usual veg of choice for the lunchboxes, and they prefer to have a fruit snack when they get home so I have stopped trying to get them to pack fruit in their lunches. I am less strict about lunches than I am about breakfast and dinner, the goal is to get something fairly healthy that they will actually eat and enjoy into the lunchbox. Gloved and gowned, I once dug through the luncheon garbage from grades 1-5, looking for a lost retainer. I was horrified at the number of whole apples and bananas thrown away, and the number of lunches that were not even opened. Bag after bag lunch, obviously lovingly packed, some with cheery notes or hearts on them! Baggies with whole sandwiches, or whole bags of vegetables or fruits. I felt so bad for those moms, and for the teachers who had to deal with hungry, crabby kids for the afternoon. And irritated with the unknown kids, who were wasting so much nutritious food when so many children in the world go hungry every day. It was disgusting. Comments (35)I guess I forgot the "processed part". Processed Potatoes usually consist of just dried potatoes. My brother lives in the Potato growing part of Washington where they Process potatoes...he works in one giant process plant. They are washed peeled, cut and dried. Period. Some producers take those 'fresh, processed and dried' potatoes and add spices or other flavorings to them, or dry them and make them re-hydratable so they become mashed before eaten. Imagine, they don't have to use a chemical spray on a fresh potato to keep it from sprouting or spoiling....just a freshly dug up potato, scrubbed, dried and made edible in its' freshest state. IF YOU add cheese (or a cheese product) YOU are adding a chemically altered product to a product. Do you know WHAT makes your cheese the product you like? Spices are made the same way. Dried onions, dried chives, peppers, salt.....do we know exactly what is in the 'additives' that make our 'scratch' cooking superior to others methods of cooking. Have you 'vetted' your cinnamon, nutmeg, milk (now that 's a great one, how YOUR cow gave you your milk) coffee, tea, chocolate, cocoa....even the paper product it arrives in sometimes contains a preservative. That is the world we live in. There certainly are many hundreds of products out there that are nutritionally questionable...I'm thinking so many beverages, including juices. Cookies and pastries, as well as other sugary stuff. Convenience or pre-prepared items,IMO, should be deemed acceptable for many different reasons. The world we live in is the safest food-wise in centuries. Our country has the highest food to $$$ economy in the world.( I only think I have read this, can't prove it) In other words, we can feed more people with our $ than any where else. That says much about how our farms grow, store, preserve and ship to the whole world our farm grown products. t...See MoreLoneJack Zn 6a, KC
