How should I brighten up my kitchen?
Comments (145)"remove it and replace it with a plain, simple molding painted ceiling white. Preferably something significantly different from the cabinet molding" "use the (removed) crown to finish off the trim on either side of the newly exposed cabinets" /\ Agree And on another note ... THANK YOU for coming back to this thread to update us on your progress 1. So we can all continue to follow along, especially those who have subscribed to your thread 2. Comments (8)I have typhoon bordeaux with cherry cabinets and went with a creamy subway tile. I brought home over 20 smaples from 6 stores and the best match to my granite was biscuit by American Olean. I got it from Roma tile in Watertown and it was only $3.65/sq ft and they stock it. There's a bunch more tile stores in Watertown - tile showcase has beautiful tile but is a bit more pricey. They had a gorgeous crackle tile that had great depth. If I didn't alreay have brick in part of my backsplash I would have gone with that....See MoreKitchen Help! Not sure how to brighten it up?
Comments (92)Color. You need color. The paint samples are all nice but they won't do anything to cheer up/brighten up that kitchen. If you don't want color on the walls, then use your lightest Warm Neutral, brighten up the space with accessories and doodads in a bright cheerful color... and I myself would paint the dining set a matching bright cherry color. (Meant to say cheery, but Cherry sounds pretty good!)...See MoreHow to brighten and add flair to blah 90s kitchen on a budget?
Comments (20)The fridge was the first thing I noticed also....perhaps a decorative screen could disguise that...how much room do you have on that wall to add something useful there to disguise it?...the challenge here is that there isn’t really any space to add decor here....paint is really the only option to make a noticeable difference ...painting cabinets is not a job for an amateur...so that leaves the walls....there isn’t much wall space so you could do a bright color that you like...or wall paper...what is your favorite color? I always like a pale but bright aqua in areas that are small and have dark elements...the back wall and soffit could be a different color like a pale Apple green...this would bring the most life and excitement to the area with the least amount of work....add a screen ...also spray painted if you like ...in front of the fridge .......See Moreerica320
