Brutuses... I wish I could answer that! People ask me what my 'style' is and I just don't know! My mom says I'm 'eclectic' because I just pick what I like. I know I'm definately not modern. I grew up in a country home so that is comfortable to me. I guess I just have some of everything! We have gutted the house so all of the hardware will be ORB. I hope I don't regret that down the road but I love it right now. Glad to hear you don't think I'm crazy. Some days with all of these decisions I sure feel it... ;~)

Thank you all for the suggestions. I spent about 3 hours in the home during inspection, in the afternoon, a few weeks ago. I'm in Chicago, and, Blfenton, the lighting is exactly as you describe (maples, birch, ornamentals fall color). For that reason, and because of the exterior of the home, I'm hesitant to do warm yellow or other brown-based earth tones because the lot is deep but narrow, and there are trees on both sides. The feel of the house just lends itself to lighter colors. I won't be able to get back inside before closing because one of the current family members is immune-compromised, and showing the house was stressful enough for them. So I'm going to wait to decide on wall color until I move in, but Bbstx, Alabaster looks like a strong contender. I also need to see the trim color again. It was in good shape and mostly just needed touch-ups rather than total repainting, so I'll probably work around it. Yes, that wallpaper above is more green now that I look at it again. I may need to focus more on greens and blues. I like the idea of sage green, because it transitions among the seasons more, especially during the holidays. Thanks for all the good wishes. I know this year has been so difficult for so many, and I'm fortunate to have this diversion.

Matters NOT. WHAT MATTERS IS does your hardware selection, the door stain or color or the hardware on that door in both style and finish...........suit the door itself, and also the exterior of your home. We certainly don't know that. Do we?

A new build we saw had all the trim and interior doors painted a taupe instead if white and it was beautiful! I went smaller scale on our house and did just door and door trim but still love the look. We also have edgecomb gray walls and this door color is Behr Roadside. I do like the door trim painted the same color as the door. The house we saw had SW Megataupe(?) trim.
