We put in double? triple? honeycombs. Our sink is bumped out 3 inches so the area behind sink is deeper than the balance of the countertop, which also has honeycombs along it. It is still possible to splash onto it. I lift the shade when I'm throwing around water, etc. We have a prep sink elsewhere (on peninsula) so there is less chance that things that stain will ricochet onto the shades. I agree that the honeycombs are a "now" product. We bought them because they're neutral colored (a sandy beige on the inside, which is unobtrusive in our light oak kitchen), insulate the window, and allow us to use them "bottom-up" for privacy from the street without cutting most of the light. I looked for images before I purchased these and didn't find much. Sorry I don't have a photo for you but your imagination will do. A spider went into the hollow chamber. His shadow showed for a while. I left the shade down hoping he would move out, but he didn't. Now shadow's gone, so he's probably crumbled to dust. We bought online from Select Blinds on a "get one free" deal. We bought the side-track version, which is the most expensive, hoping to add insulation value; not sure it was worth it, because I believe some moisture migrates through the shade, making me wonder how good the insulation value really is, but the honeycombs have warmed up the room at least 3 degrees and perhaps as many as 5 - 6 on a cold Minnesota day, so that's a benefit, since that room with 5 windows in it is so vulnerable to cold winds otherwise. Additionally, the blinds absorb sound, which needed to be done. And they still qualify for the energy tax credit I think. We did have temporary cafe curtains on the windows. They were darling but they didn't insulate. I was supposed to have my roman shades finished (they will be top-down only and will probably be used mostly during winter) but family situation has taken precedence over interior decorating. For now.

I don't know what BBB are carrying but the ones I own are very durable. I believe they're by Hunter Douglas. One set is behind the kitchen sink and I've washed spaghetti sauce off with no problems plus when they've gotten crushed from the cat lying against them they pop right back into position. I highly recommend their UltraGlide cord system. Personally, I wouldn't want to go around everyday raising and lowering 12' of cordless roman shades. Keep in mind that when the cellulars are down you have total privacy but no control of light as you do with blinds.

Thanks I took a look and brought a paint swatch sample to the store, but in person neither of those colors worked. I am looking at Hunter Douglas Journal and Aspen White. Also looking at Bali Dove White and Almost white. Its tricky as the Bali Dove White looked right if blind sample was stretched out, but if it is crinkled (as in a partially raised blind) it looks too yellow.. The room gets good light during the day. I am leaning toward Hunter Douglas Journal. Does anyone have any experience a white white honeycomb blind matching BM white dove trim well? I know its a popular trim color so hoping someone has some experience.

They can be cut. Call some of your local blind shops to see if they can do it.
