What shower floor do you like with white subway tile on the walls?

Sorry that I don't have any pictures to attach. Am building a 4' by 4' shower with a square drain. I'm planning to use white subway tile on the shower walls, dark grey tile on the rest of the bathroom floor, and the countertop / tub area will be white quartz with light grey veining. Would love your advice.

White penny tile? White finger tile? White herringbone? What’s your guys’s style?
I like to stay white in the bathroom. Especially if your having a separate color on the floor. Another idea is to do a river rock kinda tile look. I love that! But again, prefer white

I love penny rounds. I don’t know if you have a store called “the tile shop” they have this gray and white one. It’s gorgeous. It fades between light and dark gray. It would look stunning with your colors

The glossy white field tile in our guest bathroom ties in with the glossy white tub, toilet, and sink. The listello border tile in the guest bathroom (emperador dark marble/White Thassos/Noce travertine) picks up the colors of the vanity--espresso stained walnut, the toilet, shower pan, and sink--white, and the lt walnut or noche travertine floor tile. The glossy field tile in our hall bathroom provides a nice contrast to the split-face travertine mosaic border tile and honed travertine floor tile. abd1--thanks. At a local Home Show this past weekend, the tile store we'd used had a nice display utilizing some new tile they'd gotten in--glossy 4x16" (!!!--cool shape/dimensions) white tile with stone strips/mosaic accent tile.

I have similar concerns about too much white in my bathroom re-do. Currently, the bathroom is 50s pink n gray tile, so a lack of color will be a relief! I found a ceramic tile at Lowe's that looks like wood parquet. It matches the color of the hardwood in the hall by the bathroom. I am trying to copy an inspiration room on the Restoration Hardware website: white walls, dark stained vanity/mirror/wood floor. If you want to find the picture on the rh website, you have to look under the white bathroom rugs on the website. The tiles we purchased were a special order from Lowes and are about $4/sq. ft. Will keep up and see how your project turns out!

I have the Crossville Savoy white gloss. I don't have that much backsplash so it wasn't a big difference for me, but I liked that they had a little more character than the very flat Daltile or American Olean. They are thicker and just slightly irregular. I used a light grey grout (sterling, perhaps?). My price wound up being something like $9-11 sq ft.

I'm assuming that you want to do something above the tile rather than interfering with the tile in any way. If you want something that's a little bit 3-D (as opposed to framed art displayed flat on the wall) it looks to me like your shelves would be high enough to be out of the way so you could go with the framed pics propped on the display shelf using your white shelf/oak frame combo. Sounds like it would look nice. I think they rout (is that the right word) a channel in those types of display shelves to keep the base of the frames from sliding forward. (I like the black stools :)

I like 12 x24 floor and shower walls the same then a smaller tile for shower floor but in the same color . The fewer finishes in a bathroom the longer you will love it and IMO subway tile walls in a shower are just way too many grout lines for me.
