I'm very sensitive to noise, so I'm just going to ask if you know that a metal roof may be noisy in times of rain or hail. As far as the colors as concerned, I like to stick with all warm colors or all cool - gives a unified look. Cool colors: bright white, ice cool pastels, light medium and dark taupe, cool blue red, royal blue, Kelly green, dark green, forest green, purple, navy, black. Warm colors: off-white, cream, beige, tan, golden yellow, orange, rust, peach, olive green, brown.

With your nice white doors, trim, and windows, I would paint the entire body of your home a navy blue. Remove the shutters and increase the size of your window trim. Then do large white square columns for the porch and a deep grey standing seam roof.

Then, small updates like new exterior lights, home numbers, and landscaping (!!)

Thanks, guys! I love that mock up.... We're not worried about the extra noise, but I will mention it to my husband. He grew up in a house with a metal roof, though. I have been thinking about getting rid of those shutters. I figured it would be good to do it all at once. Is it hard to widen the window trim?

Oh! And we are working on the landscaping-- I was going to put hydrangeas in that very spot. :)

We had a metal roof in our former house, the noise did not bother us at all. It is not like a metal roof on an empty or mostly empty shed or barn with no insulation where the noise echos.

Some option with bronze siding. I would beef-up posts. Please, no shutters.
