Exterior siding color choices...
Comments (13)cpartist.. you always have great ideas so any help would be wonderful. The plan is already bid out as is. Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, I feel there are a few things wrong with the elevation that first needs to be addressed. What bothers me most is the faux facade. What do I mean? The front veneer of stone that isn't repeated on any other elevation on the house. The stone shouldn't look like it's pasted onto the front only. Stone is "heavy" and it should look like it's supporting the structure of the house. I'm also not a fan of your craftsman columns because nothing about the house says craftsman. I would prefer wood columns that went straight to the ground. And lastly I feel your front porch gable is too high off the ground. I realize you were trying to create a "grand" feeling to the entry but instead it just looks off. I think if it's lowered it will still look important. If you'd be willing, I'd love to show you some ideas on how to "fix" these three things. However, I won't be able to get to them until tomorrow night as I'll be out all day tomorrow....See MoreHelp! Comments (12)I would stain the wood beam and corbels a dark brown. Here are some Benjamin Moore colors I think would be nice. I found that the darker colors seemed to look better than some of the lighter ones I originally picked. With any one of these, there is an opportunity to add more color in the soffit and gable ends. I sampled Storm Cloud Gray on the garage....See MoreExterior Paint Colors for 1919 California Craftsman Bungalow
Comments (24)I posted one, above. the wood garage door would be a nice compliment w/this here are others Love this w/warm brass lighting, (or copper) and some wood accents. Look up "how to stencil your porch" to get ideas for the steps. I like a dark trim like Urbane Bronze. Why not get some of these samples and try them? I like some of these pairings, and the others w/the warmer bronze, gold/terra cotta. I think they would look nice w/your steps. (I also like if you painted them w/a stencil in the creamy white and something like iron ore or one of the others) And, should you decide to do some natural wood like cedar or redwood as accents shutters are evergreen. see how nice it is w/the wood? If you like lighter colors: I like all of these too. I actually like the Mineral Gray for the stucco...See Morecpartist
