Lemon Pesto on my mind...Backsplash thoughts
Comments (11)herbflavor - I'll have to keep my eye open for some kind of accent tiles if this doesn't work out. deedles - yes, we were at the store in Kohler. We live about 3 blocks from the American Club. It is very overwhelming and I'm not sure I saw everything which is part of my hesitation. EAM44 - I think my hesitation is more about the price right now ;) I keep thinking about it so I feel like it or something similar is probably "the one". Interesting options - I don't think glass is right for the space, but I do really love slate. I've always been drawn to it but was avoiding it here thinking it would be too dark. The one you posted isn't bad though. Steph2000- I think I'll have to head back to the store some day and get pricing figured out and see if I can borrow the board and bring it home for some photos. I was thinking I would go simpler but more because I felt like that's what I should do if that makes sense. Every time I think about actually having a solid color backsplash in my own kitchen I feel kind of blah. I would hate to spend the time and money and just feel like its okay rather than perfect. I was hoping to find some way to tie the cabinet colors with the wall color but I didn't like the idea of a multi-colored mosaic. I never thought I'd find something where I got all the colors in each tile. This was one of my other options I was considering, but it still doesn't tie in the green and I still haven't gotten the correct sample to check on the yellow: I'm going to spend some more time looking for inspiration and other tile options. Keep the opinions and alternatives coming!...See MoreBacksplash thoughts?
Comments (31)I think a 2" line of the counter material along the entire perimeter would have been my first choice. With beadboard cabinet doors and fridge enclosure, I'd stick with plain subway tiles if you decide to tile. Keep it simple behind the range with the high-back stove. I think you could forego tile under the hood all together with that range. You don't need it for function or form as the windows and wood hood provide the interest on that wall. It can't take much more detail. The prep sink wall does need protection though. A photo with your art hung might give an entirely different perspective of what to do on that wall. Right now it looks bare and needs personality, so the inclination might be to provide that with tile....See MoreAnother Backsplash thread....thought we wanted green...now not so sure
Comments (42)Hey guys..not at home right now, but the Sherwin Williams color on the walls is "cachet cream". When I put it up, the running joke for the entire paint project was, "wow...i'm having a hankering for something...sweet...and orange-like...but with vanilla in the middle. Creamsicle!!!" However, after it dried, it mellowed into something more creamy / yellow. It definitely has a yellow tint in the natural light. When we painted the walls, we didn't know what the backsplash was going to be, so it was more of a 'guess' seeing as though we'd either get it right or have to paint it again...and it is sooooo much easier to paint with no flooring, etc. in the room... Here is a link to the color: Sherwin Williams Cachet Cream...See MoreBacksplash thoughts, tile or Quartz
Comments (7)@couturevert Thanks for your comments, not sure I agree 100%. I don't need a separate backguard, I have a "traditional" gas stove, the 10 inch control/settings is my back guard. Just looking for a cleaner look without grout for my medium/small sized kitchen . Thankfully, I was able to find a less expensive quartz that appeals to me. The ceasarstone price point was doing me in!...See Moremxk3 z5b_MI
