Exterior Help on Brick and Siding Ranch House

Getting ready to revamp the exterior. Would love suggestions for colors and landscaping.

I don't like landscaping that hides walkways so I would relocate the shrubs along the walk.

The rest depends on if you want to keep the brick as it is. It is an attractive color so I don't hate it. I don't like the way one side is fully brick and the other is only partly brick.

The shutters need to go.

I did this on the Sherwin Williams website.

I like the front door and I love the tree.

The house near me is a medium cream with sort of olive green shutters. Cypress is big here so lots of people use it. I must say it looks nice. Kind of makes me wish I didn’t paint my old cypress shutters. A light color may show dirt easily considering the trees in the front yard and a dark color will disappear in the shadows. Accessible beige would look nice with SW sanderling on the trim and SW cadet on the door. I’ll attach some pics of some color schemes that could work and assuming the stained doors would be your posts.. The house styles are wrong but you can see the colors. Alos once I changed my windows, the tint gave off a bluish color that made my blue door (SW Riverway) look better, so waiting until they’re in may guide your decision. For this one, the door color could be the stain for the posts.

I like both bricks but not together. I would have to paint one of them with a Romabio masonry product. Can the downspouts be re-located to not be so much of a feature? Does your climate require the storm door or can it be eliminated so a new door will be a feature? Put larger new numbers on the wider bit of wall right of the door. With the right landscaping you won't need a wreath or planters. Unless required by law, I wouldn't add railings. However, consider making the area more useful with a larger patio style porch and broad steps. Definitely do not use stones for mulch! They will get hot and will take years to remove if you want to change them. I know from experience; they really dig in, even over landscape cloth. My landscape professor swore by natural colored cypress mulch which deters insects and degrades nicely into the soil over time.

here are some suggestions for the house, below. Do you plan on doing any landscaping? That alone will add more than half to curb appeal. just redoing your path and flower beds would make a huge difference. here's a brick ranch like yours with nice curb appeal. at the very least, clean up the walkway edging and redo the flower beds. Have you thought about extending your front porch? You could do something similar to this or see how they did the porch addition onto this one? you don't have to do all of this, just the porch I love this one. the landscaping and the brick redo. ideas for the brick

Susie--thank you. I like the Felted Wool combo with Urbane Bronze and was thinking something like that. cat_ky, I know what you mean. Maybe I should just be staying with white and be done with it. But so many people seem to want the bronze windows. The bronze windows also go better with the interior renovations than white does, but both are fine. I am likely selling the house after I renovate it and want it to appeal to a wider audience. I'm posting the original photo of how it currently looks here for comparison.

I agree to remove shutters. Your house is not symmetrical so would be better not to do bookend bushes. On the left, place some multi-trunk graceful trees like a crepe myrtles in a deep bed sweeping from past the corner to past the house center. A smooth sweep, not the serpentine one will be easier to mow next to. The shrubs next to the walk look too close. Shrubs next to walks generally crowd it especially when it is the typical width that builders install.
