Need a green paint color suggestion for kitchen
Comments (30)Maybe Olive Branch, or Dry Sage. I am currently working finding a shade of green for my basement. I just learned of Dry Sage so I need to try a sample of that. From online pics I am on the fence so we will see! Forewarning, anything green or yellow is SUPER hard to figure out, dont be discouraged with how long it takes, and dont settle for one you dont like otherwise you will just have to repaint it in the future anyhow! Also, stay away from bold/bright colors with green or yellow. Green is a mix of yellow and blue. If you have warm lights (yellow) then the green will be more green. The fluorescence lighting they use in a lot of stores are too bright and the wrong color. It adversely affects how the swatch looks both in color and in brightness. Brown = warm Yellow = warm Blue = cool Your brown/gold countertop would complement a green that is warmer. Hope this helps! Edit: Pic below is BM olive branch. Other colors that are good: BM Dry Sage https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/e3/2c/5e/e32c5eeba20036db34bfe6c92e5c418a.jpg (couldnt figure out how to upload more than one pic) BM baby turtle (lighter than olive branch) BM flowering herbs (lighter than baby turtle) BM nantucket gray (darker than olive branch) BM hampshire gray (darker than nantucket) This post was edited by Vith on Tue, Jan 20, 15 at 16:33...See MorePaint color suggestion for ugly carpeting please
Comments (2)Try to find some bedding with that color -- even a small touch of it will help! On a neutral-colored bed -- even a small rectangle of fabric on an accent pillow will "move" that intense shade of color around the room! And look for a very inexpensive artwork with a bit of the jade color -- maybe even frame a bit of wallpaper or wrapping paper? Choosing a wall color of the same intensity -- like the plum might make the room feel very dark -- so be sure to add lots of lamps if you choose that color for your walls. Here is a link that might be useful: possible bedding...See MoreNeed paint color suggestions/advice for kitchen cabinets
Comments (5)I looked at Elephant Breath (SW I think), Revere Pewter by BM, and couple others. They looked just great when put on the horizontal surface; the moment I turned the painted samples vertically as kitchen cabinets would ultimately be, they lost their warmth and seemed much cooler and dull, in any light-inside the house and in the full sun outside. I ended up looking at 14(!) samples taking them around the house and checking them in different lights and times of a day. In the end, I went with a custom color that I happened to stumble upon in our carpenter's shop. It was a formula that was mixed by some designer for a very high end kitchen in Malibu..It turned out to be wonderful. The cabinets are installed and make me happy each time I look at them. But it's not gray. I don't even know what I should call this color. I just know I like it lol. Get samples; you never know how a color would behave until you try it. It will be tiresome; but ultimately you will be pleased with your choice....See MoreSuggestions needed! Ugly hollow doors
