Front Door opens into Middle of Living Room - Floor Plan help?

I am trying to design my living room. It is an open floor plan with the kitchen and dining room. The "living room" portion is at the front of the house. The entrance to the house is a double door centered in the middle of a 22 foot wall, opening directly to the living room. The living room is 22 feet wide, and about 15 feet deep. Past the 15 feet depth is the kitchen/dining area. I am trying to design a floor plan for the living room (22 ft x 15 ft) but am having trouble deciding on how to place things due to the door opening right in the middle. Any ideas? It is completely empty right now and I don't have any furniture limitations, so it's a completely blank slate.

left wall is 30 feet total, 15 feet to the dotted line which is start of dining area. Right wall is 12 feet from front to hallway. I plan to place a TV on either right or left wall.

Chess-yeah that's me - yes, that is exactly right! the owners dad built it about 70 years ago. Jamie Ludwig - I posted some additional photos that did not seem to upload before Saypoint - Was thinking I can't do seating on either side of the door because on one side you have fireplace and the other side is the entryway to the other room. We tried the sofa facing the fireplace but it did not seem to work well as it felt like you walked into the sofa when you came in. Also tried the sofa in front of the tv with the back to the door but then again felt like you walked right into the sofa and it was too close to the TV.

I love the balance the existing door brings to your space. You could perhaps work around the furniture placement issue by floating some of the furniture pieces, rather than having them all along the walls. If you post pics we could help.

I like your rearrangement. Now for suggestions.....The coffee table is too big. I would like to see a round ottoman there. I would put your little mirrors around the bookcase...three to each side. Get a end table with lamp for the end of your couch nearest the dining room. Maybe a tall plant on the other end of your couch. To soften the room, if you want to, I would get some sheer curtains for the windows Also I would pull your sectional out away from the windows...looks sort of shoved in. Pretty dogs.

Please post the floor plan to match the pic for sure. This is not a big space and IMO not big enough for 2 seating areas and in the drawng you show a single door but it is a double one. Is this entry used daily or only for guests ? The furniture you show id no to scale you need at least 13 ft to do the TV , sofa and coffee table and allow walkspace behind the sofa . Use graph paper draw the room to scale then use that same scale to cut out furniture and move it around to see what actually fits You need to be able to wak bewtween the sofa and coffee table and between the coffee table and the TV then you need space behind the sofa for the entry . I hate sectionald but maybe the only answer here only you can figure that out unless you post a real to scale drawing. Are there windows in the space for instance and where are the doorways to the rest of the house all those things affect layout of furniture .

We are in the process of building and have a door in the center of the living space as well. It helped me to draw things out in scale on graph paper. Please forgive my very basic skills 😂 I have planned 14 x 18.5 for the living space,

Unfortunately, the architecture doesn't allow you to have a foyer. This plan shows a 36x96 sofa and two matching chairs about 36x36.
