Do have an actul colored elevstion drawing? It looks like stone not brick in this drawing and why white at all I need to see the brick and also what is the sding and the windows all these things need to be part of the decision. IMO brick in the gable would be a bad choice since I like stone or brick to look like it is actually part of the building not stuck on at the end

Your answer is highly dependent upon the design of the house as a whole. The drawing provided does not accurately represent reality enough and does not show enough of the house design.

From what I can see, the windows at the gable are very contemporary and don't work with the windows on the main floor. What style is the house?

We didn't work directly with an architect and purchased the plans from the internet. (I know now that is a big no no, but didn't realize that before we started) I have a few pictures of finished homes using the same plan. I do not have a drawing of our actually finishes, the windows are the same size and shape as the plan shows and similar to the dark gray house I have a picture of. The foundation will actually be a darker brick with white brick above it. Maybe I am wrong thinking all of it will come together..... anyway, here are some of the pictures. This is a lake house with views in back and front of home.

There will not be any stone or board and batten, it will be an all brick vinear unless I decide to use the shake above the front porch (shake or siding will be around back porches).

Will the house be located where it snows, and is there a possibility leaves will land on the roof?

Mark, we are in Tennessee so we usually see very little snow and it is usually melted by 5 PM. Most of the trees are pine so not a lot of leaves. The front porch will be metal roofing because it has a lower pitch, not sure if that matters.

Now it gets worse you have 2 kinds of brick . IMO we need to see samples of what you are planning BTW the pics you posted the 1st is just plain ugly , the 2nd okay but too blurry to really see and the 3 and 4 th I assume are your house .

(Patricia Colwell Consulting) I am not a huge fan of the all red brick either, which is why I chose two different bricks. Yes the framed house is mine. This first picture is my inspiration for the two tone brick, second picture are my brick colors (both will have white mortar to tie them together) I have seen this concept on a couple of homes locally and absolutely love it. I like the look of white brick but not the mud splatters that show up a couple of feet from the ground, so for me this was a solution to my concerns with white brick.

A little change in materials or color...may make the entry a little more obvious in an all brick home

in any case the area to be covered is minuscule...and the window trims are a big feature ..”simple” may be the best guide in the siding choice

Very good point about the window trim btydrvn. There is approximately a foot between each window so in reality very little of the veneer will be showing. Thanks for the input!

I would also say brick is the unfriendliest surface to touch...with that in mind the whole front porch area would feel less forbidding if done in siding..board/batten ...or even a more contemporary sleek finish...so the entry introduces the style of interior
