Entry hallway runner - what size/style would fit best?
Comments (3)Thanks, Jan! I just snapped a couple additional photos showing the area at the front entry in relation to the front hallway where the runner is + a length shot of the runner. I measured from the door to the wall where the hallway starts and it’s 72 in. The length of the door across (not counting the molding on the sides) is 36 in. exactly. And the widest I could probably go without interfering with the air vent is 48 in. But i’m afraid to get one too big so that its too close to the hallway runner. shouldn’t there be some space? what’s the recommendation there? I also measured the width of the hallway and it’s 43.5 in. Given those measurements, do you have a suggestion on which entry rug and runner sizes would work best? Thank you!...See MoreEntryway Rug, Runner & Stair Runner help
Comments (14)Thank you @everdebz! I’m new to the site so haven’t added any idea boards yet. I am actually going for a brighter look. Mix of contemporary/French/farmhouse. We will be renovating that living room you see from the foyer and it will have hardwood floors. We are not renovating the foyer but would like to tie in these styles. Kitchen and mud room on the side of the house will have these color schemes:...See MoreHave some questions on entryway runners
Comments (11)UPDATE: I still haven’t bought a rug 🤦🏻♀️but I did listen to all your advice and mapped out the dimensions of potential rugs and furniture. The first photo shows what a 5’x8’ rug would look like near the doors. The second shows a 4’x6’ rug next to my console table (coming in late May/early June). The remaining two photos show the entire hallway from both ends. I think the 5x8 rug would look good by the doors, but I can’t help but feel that even with the console table, settee, and other decor (I plan on adding a small accent table and tall vase on either sides of the settee), that would still leave a large swath of uncovered floor. I was considering putting a second 5x8 rug, but based on many photos I’ve looked at, you’re not supposed to have the rug go under the console table feet. Hence why I mapped out a 4x6. But that size seems small for that area, even if I put two of them. Should I even go for three 4x6 rugs? Or would it look disjointed? Does anyone have any suggestions? TL;DR- do I use one 5x8’? Do I use two 5x8’ and have the edge of the second go under the console table feet? Do I use two 4x6’? Maybe even three?...See Morelooking for an entryway rug runner
Comments (19)I like the idea of a jute rug but I'd look at something that blends in more with the floor so it won't take away from your cool looking wallpaper. Here's one in navy from Amazon although I'm sure there are many places to find similar....See MoreRelated Professionals
