Hello. Thanks for the replies. Phoggie: I got the blacksplash from Home Depot. I can't remember the name. I had special ordered it about a year ago. It actually was supposed to be a border, it came in strips vs. a 12" x 12" square. I fell in love with it and had to but lots of strips!! Not sure if they still carry this item. It was located with the border tiles. Good luck! Justgotabme: The living room are was arranged this way because I felt like the area was "cut off" from the rest of the house when the 2 sofa were in a "L" form. I like this placement better because it felt more open to me. My hubby likes it the other way. We do not watch much TV in this room. Most of the time, my boys are in the "TV room" which is just a converted bedroom. This are is primarily used for entertaining and the TV is not on. I'll play with arrangement again. Drapery panels on the end.....I contemplated that. I just hung the beaded panel last weekend and debated if there needed to be a "finishing touch". I'll order some to complete the look. What a beautiful living room you have made. The credenza under your TV is particularly gorgeous. Here is what I would consider doing if this were my room- just to give you ideas to play off of for a start. I would begin by finding some blue, patterned throw pillows for the sofa and the arm chair. I like Indian block prints. They are classic and fresh. What I have shown is not exactly bargain, Target/Home Goods, but aside from the Ginori, it's not terribly expensive either. Here are some from John Robshaw: And for the blue arm chair, I thought something like this could be fun: Next I would find an orchid or cyclamen for the table by the blue arm chair. I am partial to cyclamens, so here: I would look for a silver cachepot. Here is a simple one from The Enchanted Home. I like how the silver echoes your side table by the sofa. I would like a much simpler/more modern silver cachepot, this is all I could find right now. Then for the coffee table, I would find a few pretty and interesting coffee table books: Assouline, Phaedon, Taschen, Rizzoli all have great, colorful, conversation sparking titles available. It is very common to put stuff on top of books on coffee tables. That is not my thing. I would rather just see something pretty next to the stack of books. Maybe a bowl or a vase in this Ginori pattern (Orientale in azalea): Lastly the table between the sofa and arm chair could use a lamp perhaps. I would look for something sculptural in crystal. Like this from Horchow: Your room is lovely and will come together more and more over time. Don't rush yourself. Wait to find things that really speak to you, so that you infuse the room with your personality.

What about counter height bistro table with wood trunks as base, and Pier 1's tempered glass as the top, etc.... 2 wood stools and oval glass? or plywood top, and use your leftover panel fabric as tablecloth...! I can't imagine the learning curve on that...We just finished remodeling our kitchen (leaning to scandi style) and I definitely had decision fatigue a couple times! and did a few layers of lighting - pendants, recessed and under cabinet lights. A simple white subway tile stacked with a med grey grout. If you put a cabinet to the right of the sink, it would help define the area and help with where to stop the backsplash...otherwise, I think some wood shelves with a plant or two; keep it minimal. As much as I dislike painted wood, I would paint the island blue (or another color you really like) instead of a darker stain...with the dark countertop, it might be too dark, more modern.
