Duct work needs to go trough load bearing beam

Hi,

We're in the middle of re-doing our kitchen and range will be moved to a different location.

I'm trying to figure out where to route the range hood duct work and I can't any options. It requires either a 6 inch round duct or 3.25 x 10 inch rectangular duct.

I don't want to go any smaller than what is recommended. There is a huge wooden load bearing wall in the way (about 5-6 inches wide by 10 inches high) between the location of the range hood and the outside wall. I can't go the other way as it's against the code here to have an outlet in front of the house. Can't to the sides either. I would have to cut in the "I" type floor joist very close to what they are attached to the main lead bearing beam (again, against the code). Tough of going trough the floor but the wall behind is only made of 2x3s. Not deep enough.

I there any safe and legal way to run a 6 inch round duct or 3.25 x 10 inch rectangular duct in a 6 x 10 lead bearing beam ?

Thanks
