This old thread lives on... I did a spring check on my lawn and garden power equipment last night. The old brute, now 32 years in youth, started up in a couple of pulls. It seemed to run great all the way to wide open. I did store my equipment over the winter with the valves closed per bill's storage tip. It did make a very loud squealing sound that came and went a few times. Kind of like a slipping belt sound. When it made the sound, it was constant for 3 to 5 seconds each time. Could this just be something as simple as the pull start housing rubbing on the fly wheel? Or is a bearing in the block starting to fail?

What about the Kitchen Aid warming drawer (link below)? It seems to deliver all the goods plus functions as a slow cooker for a lot less than the Wolf. I don't like the location of the Wolf warming drawer's controls. They seem vulnerable to spills. The Dacor we used in our last house lacked crisp/moist controls and gave the installer fits (which, I accept, probably says more about the installer). Our designer wants us to put the warming drawer in a stack below a pair of ovens (or an oven and a microwave). I prefer to have the warming drawer higher than that and also want it in a location where it can be accessed at the same time someone is tending to the oven(s). Whatever we choose, our new warming drawer will almost certainly go in the island (where there will be plenty of depth), either on the far side from the ovens and cooktop or opposite the space between them. javiwa - those are gorgeous, kudos to DH! DH made most of ours, fairly quickly and certainly cost effectively, if you are at all handy. Basically, it's a small piece of wood with a channel, screwed into the drawer, and then either plexiglass or thin wood slid into the channel. I still have to tackle our shallower drawers. I'd love to see a picture....I suspect it's an Empire style dresser from about 1830 to 1850... The chest that I have that my great great grandfather made has a similar problem....and sometime someons put brass headed thumb tacks on the drawer sides where it slid on the body of the chest. Also, mine is so worn sown on the slider part that the 1/16 inch of the thumb tack helps it fit. Closed there is a 1/3 inch gap at the top of the drawer. Also, the thing in the center of the drawer that is supposed to glide between to pieces of wood on the chest itself....perhaps they are out of alignment. And the old solution was either parrafin, candlewax or soap. As how to combat the jumble....hmmm...mine now holds family pictures, but growing up it was the hat, scarf, mittens and a shawl to wrap up in while watching TV.... But how about purses/ Sweat shirts....or even extra linens....and use your linen closet for folded sweaters.
