Comments (11)New Zealand Herald Reports other buyers may bid on F & P. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ By Christopher Adams 5:30 AM Friday Sep 14, 2012 Fisher & Paykel Appliances chairman Keith Turner says Haier's takeover bid for the whiteware maker has prompted 'credible approaches' from other interested parties. German appliance giant Bosch is understood to be looking at either purchasing a blocking stake in - or potentially making a rival bid for - the Kiwi company. Darryl Robinson, general manager of Bosch Siemens Home Appliances in New Zealand, declined to comment on the matter yesterday. Turner would not reveal which companies were showing an interest in F&P Appliances, or what their intentions might be. Haier is proposing to offer $1.20 per share for the 80 per cent of the stock it does not already own. 'These circumstances generally give rise to a wide range of interests ... whether [interested parties] end up making an offer that's of significance or not is entirely uncertain,' Turner said. Turner said the approaches were more than just 'tyre kicking'. Earlier in the week market commentator Arthur Lim said Haier would become an even more formidable force if it owned 100 per cent of the New Zealand company. That would 'certainly be of concern to some other white goods competitors our there', he said. F&P Appliances said yesterday that it had appointed Grant Samuel as independent adviser to prepare a report on the proposed offer. Its shares closed up up 1.3 per cent at $1.18. Comments (1)Hi Teal I just ordered the FP linked below except with the left hinge. I haven't received it yet so not much help. I liked the look of the handles better and water dispenser (just my opinion) in the model I linked to and this one did get only 2 reviews and at least they were 5 stars. I liked the controls on the outside water area as opposed to the inside. I'm hoping I made the right decision because I think they look very pretty in person. I'm replacing a small french door fridge I have had for 8 months do to a major water leak and also not so thrilled with the French door style (only one that would fit in my space) and prefer a single door. I'm going to be redoing my kitchen so decided to change fridge to this one. I'd be interested to see what others may have to offer about this fridge too. Comments (45)We have had an absolute NIGHTMARE experience with a F&P flat front, counter depth, stainless fridge. If it wasn’t so infuriating, it would be funny, especially if it wasn’t happening to you. it started making very strange noises a week before the 2 year warrantee expired. Sounded just like a car revving it’s engine. This was over 2 years ago now and it still isn’t fixed. This company does not stand behind their product, period. Their technician has made us feel like we were insane for thinking this wasn’t a normal sound. Lying to our faces about the most basic of issues and previous visits. Cancelled appointments, lost paperwork, wrong parts ordered, etc etc etc. it was been a complete farce of after sale customer service and support. We have every e-mail and paper document, countless video and audio files of this fridge making these crazy sounds and yet...... here we are.....just today..... the 3rd cancelled appointment this month alone by the local F&P service rep...... yep, you guessed it...... after waiting at home since 7am this morning for the scheduled service. Do NOT buy this brand. It’s simply not worth the incredible hassel you will face if anything breaks.... with, or without a warrantee....See MoreJeannie Kim
