I have a Fisher & Paykel 30" gas range.

I am generally pleased with the range. Although I've only had it three months, I haven't had any problems with it. It seems well made.

In fact, I like it so much that I've been considering a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator also but my old refrigerator is still working fine. The reviews I've read on the FP refrigerators have been good.

I'm in the same boat, I've been trying to find reviews on the F&P refrigerator - I called some local technicians but still can't get any information.

I said this in the other post as well but one of the sales person told me F&P is a reliable company and their refrigerator is a safe bet. I am probably going to buy two 32 inch bottom fridge refrigerators as a part of our new kitchen renovation. We are customizing cabinets to fit these refrigerators. Due to its unique size (width 32 times two makes 64), I am worried what happens if they don't work out and i would need to replace before or after 10 years. I am constantly looking for some reviews. Some says they lasted 10 years others says these had minor issues. I guess I am nervous. I am in SF/Bay Area. My sales person told me their local HQ is near by so the getting service won't be an issue...? I wish someone else validate this info.

I went to their experience center in NYC last week, they are beautiful! For me it’s the only true counter depth refrigerator that’s below $5K. We’re thinking of going with it and hoping for the best!

@C Cort What size are you considering? I am about to purchase two of the 32 inch bottom fridge to look a bit built in....My debate is so hard with what-if as we are customizing cabinets around it....

same here. but just went for it. Will be installed in a few days and I could report back... In the mean time, I cannot figure out what pulls to buy.

@tamoirt I think the industrial handle is easy to match with appliance from any manufacturers..

Looking forward to your feedback @tamiort, are you doing integrated or stainless? Our contractor mentioned that we can also match our cabinet pulls, not sure if you’re doing the kitchen cabinets at the same time.

I had a DCS range—company bought by FP and servicing became a nightmare as they only kept parts for 7 years. I don’t know if that is true for all their appliances or just because they acquired the company . I would call corporate yourself to inquire and not rely upon a salesperson and check the Yale appliance website for reviews and servicing rates.

Must been related to DCS moreso than F&P. I've bought parts for F&P washers, dryers, and a dishwasher that are well more than 7 yo.

Fridge is in. So far so good! Still no pulls. Fairly quiet so far. Integrated perfectly with our cabinets (except for the pulls - we have recessed pulls in the cabinet that won't work here).

From what I can tell, this is a poor mans Sub Zero. I was desperate for a panel-ready-integrated,-counter-depth fridge. You get all of that here, without the price tag. I think the gaps to the left and right of the fridge, between the cabinets are slightly bigger than with a SZ for example. But no one would notice that probably except me. I should also mention that I bought the shorter one (72" H). The taller one, I believe, has a more integrated look, but from what I understand has the same capacity and then you lose the option for a cabinet above (and it's about 3k more).

Another thing...build.com price matched this to about 3300. I've seen it all over for for about 4k. But if you look around you can get a better deal.

These are the ones with professional/industrial handles. I am getting 32 inch single door with bottom fridge. I ordered two but I won't get them until Feb or March.

@Melanie Wow I can't believe I found this thread. I have been researching Fisher Paykel for weeks and met with a appliance rep today. I was so excited about the cabinet depth refrigerator but found out it is only 16 cu feet. I was so bummed. The news is not good in getting appliances during the pandemic and there is a shortage.

@tamiort Did you get the 36" x 72" Please tell me what you think about the storage and space available in it. Right now I have 19 cu fridge/freezer and wonder if I will miss the space. Do I sacrifice the look I want. The taller one is $2,000 more and has the same amount of space. I think it might have some moisture control in the drawers but I cannot see the benefit of getting it except for the look.

I may opt for the Thermador French Door fridge but it is $7,600 panel ready.

Does anyone have a 30" Duel Fuel Gas Range with warming drawer. If so is it the Classic or Contemporary?

What do you think about the double drawer dishwasher? The lady really pushed it and said she had one and loved it. She had all Fisher Paykel.

@2Cats AndTheirMom - the storage space is great for us, but we are a family of 3 in a city apartment. large family in the suburbs might want something bigger? if you've had a pull out freezer in the past, this feels like a lot of space since there are 3 trays and everything doesn't pile on top of itself.

@tamiort I did more research and I am going with the Fisher Paykel. I compared the Thermador with the FP and there was only about 2.7 cu space difference and I could not see paying $4,000 more for Thermador. I am suppose to pull the trigger on the purchase tomorrow. : )

I would love to see pictures of the FP refrigerator with custom panels. All the pictures online are of the contemporary stained wood type panels which isn’t the look that I am going for. If anyone out there had their FP refrigerator paneled with shaker style cabinet panels, I’d love to see some pictures

@Nicole Shaw - they are being made so it may be a month or so before installation but I will post a photo here.

I’ve had the FP double dish drawer for 12 years and loved them. We are building a new house soon and are going with the same FP dish drawer set-up again.

Thirteen years ago bought the F&P fridge. Plugged it in still Running without a problem.

I bought a 36x72” built in FP fridge in January. Family of 3, live in a small city apartment. I love it so far. We haven’t renovated the kitchen yet so still no panels (the apt didn’t have a fridge when we moved in). The size is perfect and fit in the elevator. It’s very quiet too.

I bought and FP Fridge two days ago, and I'm getting the store to come back and take it away. The water filter is EXTERNAL. So a) You have to pull the fridge out every time you need to change it. b) you have to mount the filter and tubes on a wall. Well, I wanted a counter depth fridge, so I'm not mounting it behind the fridge and having the fridge stick out 4 inches and b) I don't have room anyway, so my only other option would be to run the tubes along the wall of my kitchen. I didn't pay 4K for a fridge with plastic tubing running out the side. This design is impossible unless you're installing it when the house is built. Ridiculous.

@Bridget Brown I hate the fridge did not work for you. I do remember seeing one FP model and thought it odd that the filter had to be mounted in a cabinet next to it. I ended up with the FP integrated fridge which has the water filter on the front side at the very bottom. We just installed the water filter yesterday and it has not made ice yet. So not sure what the problem is yet. @sarah Brennan do you have an suggestions for how to get this fridge to make ice;. I got the 36x72 as well.

Is there a way to fix the dent on the door? I read a lot about it’s door easily being dent. We were extremely careful but during the process of joining two refrigerator and installIng, we got a couple dents on one of the doors. They are beautiful but it is very upsetting.

I know this thread is a little old but was wondering if anyone has any tips on joining the two 32 inch FP units? Do we need to have a heater between the two for condensation? Any tips we should know? Thanks!

32" models on the FP website do not appear to be intended to be installed in pairs so no instructions are provided.

@Beatrix, a woman on instagram installed two 32" FP units to look like a large, built in fridge. Her instagram is eastcoastfloridadiy. She has a lot of videos to show the process. It looks like they sell a trim kit.

We bought a FP refrigerator/freezer for our business lounge about 12 years ago, and it's used heavily. It's only had one problem in the entire 12 years with a sensor. A repair guy came out and fixed it straightaway and it's been fine since. That was maybe 4 or 5 years ago.

It took a lot of years before it showed any dents, and our first dent occurred from an over zealous teenager whacking it against the wall on accident, so I wouldn't entirely put blame on the stainless steel quality of the appliance.

Over all, our FP is the best refrigerator we've owned over the last 25 years in comparison to a handful of other big box brands, which all broke within the first 8 months to 2 years. We're currently doing a kitchen remodel in another location and will be getting a 36" Pro SZ, as we'll have more space to accommodate a larger appliance.

Additionally, after reading more about Bluestar's less than appealing customer service across their appliances, I'm now just starting to research PK for rangetops and ovens instead. We will be getting a FP dishwashing drawers, as well. I'm hoping for positive information.

I have Fisher & Pakel dishdrawers still under warranty. Trying to get a cheap replacement part is a nightmare. It took weeks to receive a little plastic dish drain which FexEd dropped off on Sunday, broken. After several calls to F&P they want me to pay to mail back the broken part. What for? Its been a week and I cannot even get an answer if and when they will send another to replace the one that arrived broken. I wrote an email complaint - no response. Now I trying to follow up - over 26 minutes on hold so far ... This is the fifth business day after contacing them for a replacement part, with no resolution in sight. This is beyond frustrating - its downright insulting. I'll never buy F&P again.

@sandersa I have many FP appliances still under warranty. The local appliance place I purchased my FP from requested I call them anytime I have an issue and they make an appt. and will arrange for a local service tech (local qualified FP tech ) to come out. Usually within a week. Does the place you purchased from stand behind the product. I do not have to call FP. My parts arrived within a couple weeks and he came out yesterday to install.

Maybe I will try that. I just looked at the BBB online complaints (Canada) and there are 40, many recent, all about lousy F&P response to warranty issues. Dreadful!

@sandersa The reason my appliance company wants me to call them about issues is that they want to keep up with service requests on the products they sell. I am not able to call just any service tech because the warranty would not be honored. So they contact certified FP approved company which is about 40 miles from my home. One time I did call FP myself and was on the phone with a very nice lady a long time taking information and it took her forever to find this official service tech close to me and I kept telling her who it was. It was frustrating. She said she processed a service call via email. The next day, I emailed my appliance company and told them and they looked and could see no such request come through. I will say - it had only been 24 hours. My girl immediately had an appt for me within 24 hours. I hope your appliance company will help you.

I have several F&P appliance among myself and family over the past 20 years. Some were obtained as used/pre-owned and refurbished by me. I've had no trouble finding parts via online sources, including some used and new-in-box items via eBay.

Is it possible that counter depth models with bottom freezer both in 33" and 36" width, do not have any light installed in the freezer drawer?

I am looking at 4 door. Does anyone have sny thoughts on reliability etc.

@sandersa In the ottawa area, I randomly called appliance repair comoany to seek out info regarding repair, reliability etc. They service many appliances a d he highly recommended FP. He said larts are readily abailable a d he knows how to repair. Also, A definite no to Samsung.

The appliances we bought were great the double drawer dishwasher relly a great idea however we cannot get a fischer paykel repair person to come to our area. So the service unavailability makes this brand a very poor choice...Don't buy!

I've only spent a couple hours so far researching F&P for a potential range purchase, and what I've found seems to imply that the company has taken a nosedive in the last few years. Consumer affairs dot com had the company rated at something like four out of five stars, but all the reviews in the last three or four years were all one- or two- stars, mostly for complaints about impossibility of getting parts, service, or response of any kind. I was really disappointed, since I just saw a FP range that I really liked, and was thinking of buying. One person claimed that the FP policy was to only carry parts for FOUR years, so that's a terrible policy change for the worse right there. BIG middle finger to their customers. So it looks to me like they have good engineers and designers, but enough bad management and bad policy to tip the scales in the wrong direction. That leaves too much to luck, given the price point. Too bad, really...

In our condo apt building, we have F&P french door/bottom freezer units. Already, within a short time people are experiencing issues with the motherboards. Parts are in short supply and the recognized service provider cannot solve the issues. Less than impressive performance. But, of course, the developer chose the cheap option (as always).
