" Austin, I am not going to address the question in the form that you asked it; I know that. But I may be able to offer a helpful comment nevertheless. In 2010, we remodeled a powder room shaped similarly to yours. We looked into many options for lighting the room. Our eventual solution: We installed a wall fixture above the sink on one of the short walls; the fixture comprised two bulbs, arranged horizontally like a weight-lifter's barbell. We put directional floodlights -- LED flood lights (Lowe's house brand Ultitech 40-watt equivalent LED, Model #: LPAR20DM/LED) -- in the fixture. The LED floodlights draw only 7.5 watts each for 320 lumens each of illumination. The bulbs point directly at the side (long-dimension) walls. We refinished all four walls of the powder room with a very highly reflective wall covering. (At The Internet Wallpaper Store, www.wallpaperstore.com, it is product 570631; see link below.) Pointed toward the reflective side walls, the two 7.5 watt LED floodlights do a more than adequate job of illuminating the entire room. A bonus: the diffused indirect light is very flattering -- more flattering than direct light possibly could be -- to the complexions of those using the powder room, looking into the mirror above the sink. In case Jenn gets notifications on this thread, I have a similar problem. I wanted to use sconces but think there is not enough room so I think we might need to use a bathroom bar. How is the lighting you are receiving from the lighting? Are the shadows impossible? Troubling? Minimal? Thanks...should you see this.

Thanks to both of you for your comments. We are just in the process of making a plan so it might be hard to visualize with an existing bathroom photo. However, we also saw a number of examples on houzz where the mirror was just slightly wider than the sink (we plan to use a vessel sink) so if we go with a much narrower mirror then we believe we can fit a sconce on either side of the mirror. Thanks to both of you. I will definitely look at the mirror back light below and above , as I was planning the below one anyway. That makes sense. Outside of that, most of the beautiful pictures you shared were including recessed lights, which I cant really do because of the concrete ceiling. We thought about doing a drop ceiling to add can lights (ultra flats ones) but that would force us to redo the doors for the whole floor which are custom floor to ceiling height. That is why I was considering doing that same thing but just partially (just 6 ") from the vanity through the shower/tub so be able to have the recessed light look. I am just struggling getting a clean look, without those options. If I can't do that, and I cant do the sconces because there is just not much room to add a sconce between the sink and the wall next to the vanity (it is only 30" wide and our sink is a large rectangular vessel sink), what other options would you recommend?
