Can you not take a picture with a phone or digicam, get it on your computer, then play with it using a program like Photoshop or something else? The kind of program you're trying to price out (something like CAD) is very expensive and hard to learn just for one project.

I am glad this inspires you towards getting it done : ) Finding the right fabric takes time. mamorella - Thanks : ) I will post the finished product, but... it may take several weeks.....a wedding, 2 birthdays, & the Holidays. mlweaving - I like the book Singer Upholstery Basics. I bought it at JoAnn's Fabric Store & I've seen it online. I watched several different videos and the one that helped me the most was Kevin Kennedy's (linked below). He uses 12 oz. tacks in his video. My local upholstery supply store did not sell tacks & suggested I use their No Sag Nails. The nails worked well. The old one is covered in some type of burlap and the filling looks like some sort of paper or straw type fiber. This chair has been reupholstered 2-3 times before. Thanks everyone. Just a tip for anyone considering using dark wax to age something after painting- cut it way down with clear wax. At one point, this dresser looked like I had coated it with mud. I had to strip off the wax and redo it. It was a painful learning experience :-)

I have never seen a red breasted grosbeak, how nice, Murraysmom! My neighbor behind me used to feed the birds, but had to stop because the lady on his other side feed stray cats. :-( We know how those two do not mix well! One of the stray kittens got into my yard when Casey was out, and the momma was soon short a kitten. Death and destruction all around because someone wanted wild cats! I had a tall maple at my last house and was able to get a feeder far enough out on a limb that it was not close to anything but that one limb. The squirrel baffle took care of the squirrels getting to it from above. I had the feeder on a very long rope that tied to my house, went out to the tree, and just slung over the limb, so I could lower the feeder by detaching the rope. The rope was covered with plastic. The squirrels never could walk it to get to the feeder, either. It worked well. I still got mice out there, eating the seed that fell, so it did attract some vermin, but I loved watching my birds.
