The problem with doing touch ups or partially doing an area, is that it tends to make everything else dingy. From the standpoint of labor, it is also disproportionately labor intensive. You still have to protect the whole room, even if you decide not to do the ceilings, for example. Similarly, it is far easier and time efficient to do the woodwork before the walls, whether spraying or brushing the woodwork. Were I trying to save money, I would opt to do one or two rooms completely, rather than to do the whole house incompletely.

Everyone speaks of how beautiful oak is. But you want to change it to black. I have the same issue. I have Anderson E series windows, so very top of the line. But I hate the oak color. I decided to stain black my bathroom window since it’s just one window. Just to get a feel of how it would look and if I should do the rest. I say attempt on small window or another room that’s not huge. Also black windows typically have white trim. So stain the window frame black and add new updated trim and paint it white

All of my walls and mouldings are white, the kitchen cabinets and island is white, and the countertops are white with grey veining. Im going to paint my kitchen island black. I also plan on painting my doors black.
