Brown leather couch in Gray room
Comments (5)I have a brown leather sofa in a room with gray walls and white trim and I love it. I have warm (mahogany and cherry) wood furniture as well. I think the contrast of warm and cool is great, just be sure to repeat it somewhere so it's not just one single element that stands out. I think wood floors will go a long way (preferably with a rug under the sectional)....See MoreTrying to decide between gray or warm light brown wood look tile
Comments (39)Kim, I think you are wise to not use the gray you posted above.....way too busy. Have you thought of doing a large format (24x36") porcelain tile? I feel like the porcelain FAUX-WOOD TILES are too short and look too busy. The grains and patterns need to be subtle and should be at least 6-8" wide to mimic current wood floors. A large format tile (stone or porcelain) in a neutral color would be beautiful. What about carrara marble in large format (18x36")? Would be stunning! https://tilebar.com/catalina-white-carrara-18x36-marble-tile.html Check out all the beautiful blue marbles for your kitchen -- so gorgeous! https://tilebar.com/collection/marble/blue-marble.html Go here to check out some beautiful options. Light and bright and not too gray.... https://tilebar.com/archea-grigio-24x36-porcelain-tile.html Check out their Versace tiles too. Large format, so pretty! The large gray (15x30" porcelain) would be beautiful! https://tilebar.com/designer-tiles/versace.html I'm a fan of gray, just not FAUX WOOD GRAY! It just isn't natural........See MoreHELP! Comments (9)It's likely you viewed the sample in the store under fluorescent lights which accounts or the difference when they arrived at your home. So the sofas stay. All you can now do is change the paint and items around the sofas and make sure all selections are made in the same light as your home. The green you see is not apparent in your photos, but it can be safely mentioned that ant addition of red or orange tones will enhance the green so stay away from that. Don't bother with the sofa legs which are hidden in the shadows....See MoreHow do I make my yellowish sofa look better against the Agreeable Gray
Comments (12)You're the umpteenth person today who's asked for advice without showing the entire room. We don't know what the rest of your furnishings look like, floor color, rugs, furniture, accessories. Need more visual information. .Here's my thread on how to get the most helpful suggestions when you post on Houzz. Good design is holistic, not just a three-foot section of a room. https://www.houzz.com/discussions/6067247/design-dilemma-advice-for-first-time-posters Usually the solution to a color incompatibility is to repaint the walls, not replace furniture. Is there a reason you can't repaint to a creamy white that matches your terrific sofa? I don't get why so many people twist themselves into pretzels to stick with gray, gray, gray walls indoors and outdoors even when none of their furnishings goes with gray. Create an Ideabook called "gray and cream living room" and see what pops up. There's a whole thread on "gray living room walls cream sofa on Pinterest." I find the well-designed room below depressing. However, the cream rug, art work, ivory drapes, patterned pillow make it a little dynamic....See MoreHU-119963772
