The exterior of the fireplace was redone as much as we could based on budget. The gas fireplace was put in a few years back (prior to us moving into this house) so we kept it, and we kept the original firewood storage area, however now, i am not sure what to fill it with. Someone suggested natural birch wood, candles, etc, but I am wondering if any of you have ideas or suggestions (perhaps pictures) on how you might have done this, or ideas on how to make this opening useful/aesthetically pleasing design wise:) I am also open to an idea of putting in some sort of modern front door...anyway, really not sure...appreciate the help!
