Oh, well : guess I won't plant this weekend after all
Comments (7)The cold is finally somewhat better, but the migraine is still blinding. I will not get a break with that until the weather clears. It's the 4th day. Bending over is still not an option. But at least I feel well enough to do SOMETHING. It was pretty much a "lost weekend". Today, I hope to find permanent homes for all the patio pots I brought in! Half are still on towels in the family room. Husband has not said anything yet, though that's the room he hangs out in, so obviously they are an eyesore. Yes, I have to be careful where I plant. A tentative trowel in, then see what's down there. I hate it when I skewer a bulb. Most of my reticulated iris died out, so I was so happy to find some at Menards, that I bought 4 packages. I'm lucky I really have been planting all along, until the last 2 weeks. Sounds like you are doing well, Sue. Working in stages is the best approach for me too. It does take a lot of extra time to cover the planting area with wire mesh and stake it down, but it means cheating the squirrels out of an costly snack at my expense, so I do it. I don't want to push it too late. The year I did it after Christmas, chipping off the top frozen crust to plant, almost nothing came up....See Moreoh, my, she can clear a room
Comments (1)You poor dear!!! My husband had to watch our dog closely when she went out as she would head straight to the pasture for a horse pie. ugh... she didn't eat it, she like to ROLL in it. She is a sheltie and has long thick hair. (everytime she rolled in horse manure it meant a bath, blowdry, combout). We finally got her broke of that, without strangling her. Comments (67)When I first read your post I thought of using a deeper golden color that mimics the cabinet color. I think it would give a lot of height to the cabinets and integrate the look. The white appliances will still work with the white door and trim that is there. Once I painted a one-wall cabin kitchen all light blue, including the space above the cabinets, the backsplash and the back door, door trim and all the one-wall in the same color. Other than the countertops, everything on that one wall was painted blue. Before, the kitchen looked squat and off-center. After painting it all out, it looked tall and larger and "of a piece". I really like how it changed that dinky little off-centered toad of a kitchen into a bigger, taller, more planned look. Your daughter's kitchen is large, so no problem there, but I think it would benefit from the added illusion of height and streamlining by painting the walls in the golden color of the cabinets....See MoreTile tacks or 2x2 metalic accent tiles
Comments (12)Oh, duh... that first picture from gsciencechick shows a side view. Yep, that's the same thing. I'm with ya now. With the little stem on it. Is that the same as "clips and dots", Bill? Want to keep my terminology straight so I look smart talking to tile guys :) Still... cleanability? Functional? I've only seen displays, not real-life action....See MoreUser
