H&M Austin high or regular back, Ultra down?
Comments (2)We have had the Austin regular-height tilt back chair and ottoman for about three months now and we absolutely love it. It is a smaller chair than the high back, but we also bought a recliner, and we didn't need two big chairs in the same room. The cushions are the standard fill. At first we thought the cushions a bit firm and full, but now that we have used it awhile it is very comfortable. We also were used to sitting on older furniture that now feels absolutely flat when we sit on it....See MoreHancock and Moore Austin High Back Chair
Comments (2)Dorry, You may want to visit The Keeping Room in Alexandria or on the web, which is owned by Duane Collie. Duane was a valued contributor to this forum for some time and very knowledgeable in the purchase of leather furniture, especially Hancock and Moore. If you are primarily interested in a chestnut color H&M, consider visiting Greenfront Furniture (Farmville, VA and smaller location in DC area) or their website. They stock the entire Austin group at a very competitive price only in Antelope saddle (class 3 protected leather). Other hides will cost more. The antelope saddle is a deep brown/burgundy. Greenfront does deliver long distance. I have an Austin low back tilt back chair and ottoman which are very comfortable. No experience with the high back. Whatever you decide on, I would give Duane Collie at The Keeping Room the opportunity to quote you his best price. Service after the sale is important and I believe Duane looks after his customers. Let us know what you decide....See MoreIf I use this rug, what kind of chairs should I get? (pics)
Comments (20)You have a lovely room and it will be worth the effort to take the time to locate the right furnishings. Try Pottery Barn for to get some ideas about stylish comfort. Some of their furniture is on sale now. With down-wrapped cushions and down throw pillows, it really is possible to be comfortable without resorting to a recliner! Also, if there is a Bassett Direct near you, it would be worthwhile to visit the store, as they provide complementary design services. We had a very good experience with a store here in Florida when we were refurnishing our second home in North Carolina. I took in the blueprints and the designer drew out possible furniture arrangments and did a marvelous job assisting us with our selections. All of the furniture can be customized by fabric and finish and shown to you on a monitor as modified. Comments (9)If you're sticking to browns in the room, I vote for option C. The stripes look to be very close in color and tone to the leather of the chair, but, because they are dark & dramatic against a lighter background, you can see the pillow clearly from a distance. Also, the zebra pattern is bold enough to work with the bold fireplace stone. OTOH, I can't make out what color your walls are. They look beige, but are they pinkish or more yellow? Because the pillow's background color is sort of a maize I think? However, I'm in agreement with the others who suggest adding some more color to the room. Without seeing the rest of the room or any adjoining rooms, it's difficult to suggest choices. Regardless, I'd go a little bold & dramatic, else you risk an over-pale color kind of blending in to the point of being invisible....See Morebbstx
