I found some pieces for the bathroom. Just wondering if it’s portion and fits the overall look

Yes, the bathroom looks proportionate and appropriate for the time period as far as I know. I really don't know much about the Victorian style. A big undertaking to make some of your own furniture.

I recently re-updated a traditional doll house that my grandfather had made for my sister and me when we were small. My sister has passed away, and I am in my early 60's, so the house is about 55 years old. I mentioned re-updated because I updated it when my girls were small. The house then went to my sisters child. My sister stuck it in a basement where it mildewed, was eaten by some type of rodent, and most of the original furniture was missing by the time I got my hands on it again.

For my granddaughter, I did not want to put a of of money into re-doing the house. She was only 2 when I gave it to her. I transformed the exterior (there wasn't much but a blank slate, originally. My grandfather put more emphases on the interior. He had built all of the furniture, including the bath fixtures. The bathtub, a sofa and chair, and the staircase were the only remaining original pieces when I reclaimed the dollhouse.)

Both my granddaughter and her older brother like to play with the house. :) I'd be glad to show you some photos, although the style will be totally different than what you are looking for.

I would love to see pic of the dollhouse. Even though it may not be the style I’m going for I’d love to see it and get some basic ideas. It sounds like a very beautiful and meaningful project. As for diy I don’t plan on making all the actual furniture but rather pieces ( rugs,curtains,toys, baskets....). Thank you so much for your input regarding the bathroom. I’m thinking of making some sort of rug near the tub. What color should I go with? Pink?

You're lucky that much of the available dollhouse furniture is Victorian in style. Modern bathrooms seem to be difficult to find, but again, Victorians have quite a few choices. The one you chose is fine.

Your right blue bird, there is a lot of Victorian styled furniture available. The bathroom I actually had laying around in my house and I think it may work. Thank you for those threads, I’ll look into it.

My sister found an old towel and made a cute pink rug. Wondering if it works with the bathroom. nhb22 I love the idea of a light blue rug, going to look out for things to make one since a rug u can always switch in and out.

Is it a good size? Does it need to be bigger?

Would love to put something on the wall behind the toilet. Any ideas of what to put there? I would also like to put a towel rack somewhere.

Found this too lying around. Wondering if it goes, as you can see it’s not gold like the rest of the finishes. If the piece works and not the finish should I spray paint it? I would also like to put some sort of art on the wall behind the toilet as well as a towel rack.
