Painted edges of glazed porcelain tile
Comments (2)Several times -- My favorite 'paint' is actually nail polish, though I've also used regular semi-gloss trim paint and a Sharpie marker. Kind of depends on the color tile though....See Moreglazed porcelain floor tile with unglazed feel
Comments (3)I am thinking of using that very same tile for my bathroom. They had a display of it at our Ikea in one of the kitchens and I liked it very much. With all the people trampling through, it didn't seem dirty at all but they used downtown black which is pretty dark. Maybe you should get a sample and put it through some testing. What color were you planning to use?...See Moreremoving glaze from porcelain tile
Comments (4)First of all I'm really sorry about my double post (also under "taking shine off porcelain tile") - this is my first time posting and I was a little confused! Thanks so much for your responses. The thing I'm worried about is that I called in the order for the matte sample I'd seen and they wrote up the order for the glazed version of the tile - I then ok'd the order over email, because all that was listed was the tile number, which I had no way of knowing was different from the sample (there was nothing that said 'glazed' or 'shine'), especially since I didn't even know there was any other finish available for the tile. So technically, I ok'd an order for the glazed. Also, I don't think they'd pay for the demo and installation, since wouldn't they only be responsible for the tile price itself?? So frustrating. Any thoughts? Also it looks like Bill V. responded to my other post, so thanks for the tip and for the forum link. I'll keep you posted!...See MoreShower Pan Issue (what are my options?)
Comments (26)The cast iron shower receptors just replace your previous tiled shower floor and the pan/base that is under the tile. You will still have to decide what to do with the walls. I believe the smallest Kohler cast iron shower receptor is 48x36. Other manufactures may have different sizes. There are solid surface shower systems out there that have 3 wall solid surface surrounds and solid surface shower receptors. Corian and Swanstone are 2 brands that come to mind. They seem to have quite a few different sizes available. Tiles need to be attached to some type of cement backer board and there need to be some waterproofing system used along with it. Your plumber should be able to tell you all about it. There is a forum that is often recommended by GWers to answer tiling questions. Just google John Bridges Tile. There are also quite a few knowledgable contractors on this forum who may be chiming in. Good luck to you....See MoreSv Rain
