2 matching sofas or sofa+loveseat combination for family room
Comments (3)When buying upholstered furniture a sofa is always your best value. In fact from a wholesale perspective there can be as little as a $50-$100 difference between them and I will tell you why. At the trade shows, primarily the twice a year High Point market, April and october or the Vegas market manufacturers like to quote low sofa prices as they show you their wares. I have been to many markets, over 60 High Point Markets, where you will be lead around the showroom with the rep quoting sofa wholesale or in some cases retail prices, $699, $799, $899, $999. It's so boring. What they never quote are the love seat and chair prices where the manufacturere is making their mark up. My advice buy two sofas. I think it looks better and you are getting more value....See MoreCan I live without a couch and instead use 2 loveseats?
Comments (28)I know from experience that a love seat and two chairs will work fine. But I don't tend to sleep on the loveseat. I do a lot of reading there, sitting sideways with my feet up on the loveseat cushion. This works well for me. You need to think about how you use your furniture and what would work well for you. There are many variations in size for sofas and loveseats. I'm currently shopping for a new loveseat and I've found that some small couches are narrower than some wide loveseats. So a lot has to do with how the manufacturer is marketing the furniture. Get your measurements and forget the labels "sofa" and "loveseat." Go out there and find something that fits that works for your family. If there's enough seating in the room for the family on a daily basis, that's good enough in a small room. You can always bring in chairs from other rooms or even get some comfortable folding chairs to handle guests when you entertain. Furnish the room for how your family uses it the majority of the time, and be flexible with how you handle the overflow when you have guests....See More2 chairs or 1 loveseat
Comments (15)Wow that looks nice. Thank you. What size sofa and loveseat do you suggest if not 90' for the sofa? Would this layout work with 2 accent chairs rather than a loveseat and an accent chair? I found a sectional that is 89' with 2 seats on the sofa part and the third seat is a seat with a chaise. It measures 69'. I was considering trying to center it more on the long wall so there would be space behind the chaise, so it wouldn't be pushed against the wall. Then add an accent chair facing in towards the chaise part? What do you think about that? I don't know! This is why this room has been empty for 3 years. :(...See MorePalliser or Flexsteel Power Sofa and Loveseat or 2 Chairs
Comments (0)We are looking for furniture for our basement which will seat teens watching movies (allowed to eat popcorn and drink sodas) and grown men watching football (allowed to do whatever they want). Considering Palliser Kenaston in a Grade 3000 dark brown leather (Cocoa is the color) and Flexsteel Elijah in a dark brown. (I don't know what color or grade the leather is. It is the dark brown leather seen online.) Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on which one(s) will hold up to the traffic in the basement. I have seen horror stories on facebook and at the Better Business Bureau for both companies. (We have a 15 year old Flexsteel couch that we love and still looks new. My understanding is that the quality may have gone down.) Any feedback about either company would be greatly appreciated....See MoreRelated Professionals
