If these thinner leaves are comparatively new maybe time of year is affecting how they come out.

is it possible you have a dry spot in the rootball? That just happened to me :(. I suggest water thoroughly and disturb the soil a bit to make sure you're not missing any spots, then place the whole plant with the soil on a bunch of newspaper, or paper towels, that will draw out any perched water so you don't have to worry about overwatering.

Also, all the damage around the edges, is that just mechanical damage? The light brown damage not at the edge in the first photo looks suspect to me, I had thrips and this reminds me of that.

Thanks, Elena! It had some damage around the edges when I got it (from Facebook market) about 2 months ago. I figured it was sun damage. The light brown area you’re talking about I believe is new! If it’s thrips, what should I do about it?

Some people use neem oil, others use diluted Castile soap. I tried the soap but ended up going for a topical insecticide. If I could get my hands on a systemic I would use that, but in Canada I can't seem to find one.

I wasn't super diligent about doing that regularly enough, so in the end I cut off any affected leaves. I read somewhere that thrips lay eggs in the leaf cell tissue so the eggs are fully protected from any topical applications. I now remove any leaf on a plant that looks to me to have pest damage. I think this practice is what got rid of the thrips. Then again, my watermelon peperomia has only one sad leaf now, so I don't expect you'll want to go that way.

Can you post a picture of the underside of that leaf?

Here’s the underside. I do have neem oil so I could give that a try to start with

It's hard to tell... but the top left damage in this photo also makes me think thrips. check the undersides of other leaves, is you see spots where the leaf looks like it's been "collapsed", that indicates a sucking-type of pest.
