Suggest you stop and decide what the entire project will look like, then work to make it happen. Think through all your ideas. Figure out how everything will be done. Looking at the lights for an example. The base should be in the center of the piece of siding. Lap siding is normally installed with butt joints staggered, or the end butts a piece of trim. I'd remove the 2 leftmost lights, add some dark trim and a wide column. Consider removing the railing.

As the pros indicated, the roof is "wonky" -- and the more angles you add the more it costs and the more likely you are to have maintenance issues. Consider rethinking the roof to have one center ridge and one left facing gable and one right facing gable ... plus a smaller forward facing gable over your front entry door. Personally dislike a "hip" roof ... or multiple hip sections on a roof. Too much of a pain to ensure they're properly vented and if they're not, that can create huge costly maintenance issues. Would keep the entire exterior of the home one siding only. Having brick partially up the exterior wall visually creates an "unfinished" vibe ... as if you ran out of money and couldn't finish with the brick. Having lots of brick on the garage but not the entire house short changes the house -- as if you value the garage more. look close at your first pic.. they used wire ... or maybe a string ... to trap the plant against the column ... it would take a very expert.. well experienced hand to do this with roses ... if you want to try.. go with some faster growing annual ... so you can learn all about training plants vertically ... and then.. when you know all there is to know.. then go with the slower growing roses ... btw... do yo know how to grow roses in pots.. you could grow those out back for a year or two.. while you learn the other part out front ... you will have to be out there at least once a week to keep training it ... dont think this is a plant it and come back in september thing ... ken ps: and btw ... you might be better off planting long term perennials.. like roses.. in other earth ... and then training them out the posts ... rather than messing with pots ... you would have to repot them every other year or two.. and to do that.. tear them down off the cols.. etc ...

Adding anything to the fornt of this house will only add to the imbalance . That huge addition above the house is the problem it created a huge mess that IMO could only be fixed by removing it not addin more stuff to the front. Maybe a bit darker color for that part to even out the color and then some fabulous landscaping to take your eye down
