Comments (2)max ceiling height of about 6.5' (which is about a 1' wide strip running the center length of the room) that follow the peak of the roof. Are you sure that the ceiling height meets code?...See MoreLighting for slanted ceilings

Comments (8)Thank you for your comment. Cans installation is going to be difficult ( not enough space between ceiling and my roof) and I also have to figure out how to eliminate shadows that will be created because of the position of my beams. I was thinking of installing light strips on top of my beams to illuminate the ceiling. Now I would need to figure out the lights that would be below the beams, illuminating the room. Right now I'm debating attaching either short lamp fixtures to the beams directly or a row of lamps across the beams ( underneath them as well).Any thoughts on that? Would this work?...See MoreAny idea for ceiling lights on vaulted ceilings ?
Comments (13)^^^what RL said. I love good layered lighting and personally dislike can lighting especially in high ceilings. If most concerned about evening, lamps both floor and table along with possibly some floor wall wash lights to highly ceiling and corners would play nice in these rooms. Once you get furniture in, it is easier to decide where lighting is best. All remote control plugs help and dimmers. As to the dining light, shape is nice if it mirrors shape of table. Most make the mistake of hanging lighting too high. If you are keeping that dining light, you need it lower. But if they cut the wires at the junction box and didn’t leave extra wire up there, you will need new fixture. Re wiring fixtures usually costs more than comparable fixture. I think this can be a stunning home. Don’t scrimp on lighting. It will “make” your home....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
