RUGS! Need help choosing entry rug and runner! What are the rules?!
Comments (3)THE RULE Is don't make a second post!! Go to a real carpet store, ask to see stair runners that come in 36 inch widths.Have it made to the length you need and backed with non skid. Or look at area rugs in 3 x 5 for the entry if that fits.. No doormat sizes. Ready made runners will be too narrow for your space No to the rug under table. You need an 8 x10 and I doubt that fits. Nothing is far better, than a too small rug....See MoreStair Runner on Wood Stairs - Need Help
Comments (2)Any good carpet installer would be able to do it. Should be no more than $500.00. For reference, we typically pay around $250.00 for the stairs when they are installing the remaining portion of the house....See Moreneed help with kitchen runner
Comments (14)@kroftygal, From a design point of view, your floors are quite red, you have red brick outside the window, I’d go for an oriental rug that features that beautiful deep red - but I’m (infamously) not a fan of rugs in the kitchen. Now if you’re talking about a Gelpro mat, I’m with you. They make standing at the sink more comfortable, and they make washable rugs that fit over their mats as well. Check them out. My valence recommendation is, don’t get a valance. They block a lot of light, and you don’t need one with such extensive trim. For your counter stools, I’d prefer something lower in profile that doesn’t feature brown wood, but perhaps speaks to the metal accents instead....See MorePlease help! Narrow hallway runner dilemma
Comments (26)Have you considered entirely removing the door from the hallway entrance? That gives you more flexibility with sizes. I really prefer "C" but much will depend on what you can find that is ready to go, especially if you're looking at antique rugs. I would not worry if the area in front of the bedroom door were just flooring. Here's a company provided by "This Old House" for a squeak stopping kit. Check it out and see if your husband could work with it. Maybe someone you know could send it to you if they don't ship overseas....See MoreRelated Professionals
