Farrow&Ball on cabinets? or factory finish?
Comments (3)While I don't have F&B on my Crownpoint cabinets (I used Fine Paints of Europe) I did paint several bookcases, and two dining room corner cupboards, as well as all doors, windows, and trim in F&B's "Pointing" in the Eggshell finish. You do realize that the Estate Emulsion is almost completely flat right? I have it in several places in my home and it has no sheen. The Modern emulsion has a subtle sheen, and the eggshell also is quite subtle in the sheen department. In any case, F&B is terrific paint, and highly durable. Even the Estate Emulsion on my walls is scrubbable and cleans beautifully. But if I'm not mistaken, F&B recommends the use of Estate Emulsion only for wall board. Suggest you go to the website and then confirm with Crownpoint. After almost three years, I've had no need to touch up the FPE on my kitchen cabinets. But I'm happy to know I can if I need to. I have a friend who did the factory finish, uses her kitchen hard, and now has to live with some dings because she can't refinish....See MoreFarrow and Ball Paint Application Question
Comments (7)I did the powder room in Red Earth (Estate). I forgot that my walls have a lot of texture, so the gallon did not go as far as I thought it would. I only did two coats plus some touch up. This is the best paint I have ever used. Even DH liked it enough to exclaim about the texture. And no, absolutely no, odor. I love this paint. I have been unable to find a F&B blue that works for my laundry room, so I decided on a F&B turquoise instead. I'm so smitten that I will forgo the perfect color for the perfect texture!...See MoreWhat's so Great About Farrow &Ball or other high-end paints
Comments (13)I have never used Farrow & Ball but I do like the colors I see online. Two paints I have used in the past that are very poor quality (to me) is Glidden and Valspar although I have heard that Gliddens high gloss is nice. We have had five different houses during the time the kids grew up over a twenty four year span and I can find absolutely no difference in wear time or hardiness between Behr paints and BM. My youngest son used to put his hands on side of halls and walk down hall walls with his feet. He was constantly jumping up and hanging off painted ledges...same amount life span and easy clean off between BM and Behr and same painting coverage. Recently my husband and I used SW in master bath and I do love the feel of that paint for cutting in, it's pleasurable to paint with and you can't beat the great sales they often have. I do not have enough experience with long term use with SW to compare though. The reason I normally switch back and forth between BM and Behr is due to a color I may like....See MoreFarrow and Ball Red Question
Comments (2)my color deck is 2005 -- not that old. It has rectory red, radicchio, eating room red. Of the above, rectory red is the brightest red, radicchio has bluish undertone, while eating room red has brown undertone. A newer red that was introduced recently is Incarnadine which is slightly more orange. Hope this help....See MoreJules G
