@arcy_gw- The photo shows the whole room. I stood in the laundry room to take the photo. It’s just three lower cabinets and a bar sink off the kitchen. I use it for serving food like a buffet area when I have company. I think I like the no backsplash at all idea. I’ll get a deeper sink and we’ll see how it goes. We have a similar bar/sink area upstairs with no backsplash. I’ll just have to get the walls repaired when we remove it.

IMO the wrong type of schluter was used and honestly those accent walls behind ranges are a really dated look . So maybe a blessing . Rip it out do the same tile all across that wall and forget that weird square of accent tile

are you getting new cabinets? do you need the space in the uppers? how are you expecting things to look? tile going to the edge of the counter since the overhang is so far out, they could have stopped the tile at the upper cab border. but it's fine either way This one has a short overhang in relation to the uppers, so stopping it here is really a personal choice. It could have been taken all the way to the edge. Here are diff looks w/tile splash going to the end, stopping at the cabs, and going all the way what I would suggest is refacing the lowers and getting some drawers. you have nothing for large storage. at least do the drawers under the stove top i had mine refaced/painted and love all of these drawers. here's taj w/white cabs gold hardware and a cool tile
