I have a house with an odd shaped living room. It’s fairly open concept, and leads directly into the kitchen as well as the dining room and foyer. I am getting new furniture and would love suggestions on what pieces to get, as well as where to put them! Our TV is currently mounted above the fireplace mantel. I’m not a huge fan of entirely matching furniture sets or Loveseats. The more cozy and conversational the better- but traffic flow is obviously critical! I’m considering 2 couches, or 2 couches the chair and a half, or all/some with 2 velvet accent chairs. I’ve included pics of the room from different angles, the grey couch/furniture I’m looking at, and a quick sketch floor plan! Thanks to anyone who has advice.

i hope you can change it. The room has a terrible layout. You haven't moved in yet and you are having furniture dilemma. Some builders take the attitude "tear it out when we are done" because they do not have an architect on hand, and building plans were approved by city and they don't want to get a new permit.

Furniture is too large for room. Lamps are way too short/small for the room. But in the meantime, place the sofa across form the TV and place the loveseat in front of the window.. You do realize the lack of logic in having a FIREPLACE placed in front of drapery panels? If you can move the FP further down the wall to help the illusion.

Please delete your other post. Thank you. Consider using the other corner for your t v, In between place a console with lamps and art and ottomans which can be pulled out for emergency seating. Generously sized sofa/coffee table/ two SWIVEL chairs will give you seating for at least 7 people.
