Look at my suggestions. how are either of those 'too much' ? Apparently none of you are aware of how jewelry or shoes or a bag, compliments a great dress or outfit. It's called the supporting role and all 'stars' need one. here is an example of someone who stepped out of the box. I think it's a breath of fresh air. Anglo, you prob think this is 'dogs breakfast'. this one I like, even though it's bordering on boring. the only thing that keeps this kitchen out of yawnsville is the use of interesting 'supporting roles'. The lighting, the glass cabinets, the faucet, and a much needed color to offset all of that gray. and nobody needs any kitchen this boring. I dozed off just looking at it. Are you really going to argue that white subway is the only tile on the planet that goes w/marble countertops? Perfect? for whom? Peruse the beautiful kitchens here on Houzz where, omg, people actually dared to do something besides white subway tile. Tell me they're 'overdone'. they could have easily used white subway w/this marble countertop. but isn't much more interesting w/this mosaic? you may not like the industrial style light w/the more transitional design, but it's something different. and SS would prob look better than the white appliances, but maybe they ran out of funds. I'll take this kitchen all day over the one directly above. Yes, some people can overdo it. But I don't think we're talking about doing that here. If the white subway was perfect for OP, then why is she on here asking if it's OK? I merely said subway tile w/gray/white kitchen is boring. I'm sorry a lot of you are so afraid to add a little pizzazz into your homes. But hey, that's your view, and this is mine.

cdisimone - I have very similar color cabinets and granite in my kitchen except my backsplash is lighter and floors are very dark porcelain, wood look tile. I've been looking for a color that will work throughout the majority of my house too. After weeks of deliberating, I started with my dining room and painted Shoji White last night. Not sure I like it....it does not look warm or creamy in my house at all. It looks like a very light cool gray. :-( I was going more for a warm white so I can brighten things up but still have the warm, cozy feel. I'm going to give it a few days before continuing on through the rest of my house. My suggestion is to paint an entire wall or much larger sample on your wall before deciding!

After everything is installed, sample EG and other colors if that doesn't look right to you. There is a lot of variety in stones and we don't know what your slab looks like, so no one can really tell you what will work. It also depends on what direction the light is coming from. You don't have to paint until everything else is installed. I have EG in my MB which has light coming from the north and west. As mojavemaria says, it looks gray or beige depending on the light, so it might work for you - definitely worth sampling. If anything I would say it leans more beige than gray, despite the name of the color.

You have posted before with pretty much the same dilemma. What did you decide for the trim? Your choices aren't working because of the natural light influence. You can't just pick a color from a sample and put it on the walls. And, no paintcolor is neutral because of the undertones. Classic gray has a fairly high LRV, making it an off white. However, the wrong natural light will make it appear pink/purple. That undertone will not work with the fireplace tile. The room doesn't look very bright and the dominant light is coming in the three windows and glass door. Consider this color instead of CG: I think it will work well with the fireplace. Try a sample by the fireplace and by the window trim. You may find you like the woodwork as is. If it is a go add a bit of this color into the scheme. I know monitors are very fickle with colors, but I think this rug is a winner with the tile and Natural Choice.
