Making pizza right now.....

Yesterday I made a red raspberry pie. I put in 1/4 cup of extra sugar and it seems just right now.

We are turning cold too...first hard freeze supposed to come tonight. I

am thinking Veggie/Beef Soup and need to make a Chocolate Pie later..my

oldest GS is coming home next week, I think. Also have a Turkey Breast

to bake for sandwiches. Would like to make some Chicken/Noodle soup,

but don't have the supplies right now. Have to go to the store this week-end.

I made a lemon tart with some Meyer lemons.

Made a really nice chicken and potato "British Pie". Leftover chicken breast pieces, frozen peas, sweet red peppers, onions, garlic, sauce with chicken broth, milk, AP and cornstarch - what made it different is dried thyme and nutmeg. Topped with potatoes mashed with mayonnaise and butter, sprinkled with Parmesan, then baked for 50 min. Not an American Chicken Pot Pie or even a British Shepherd's Pie but really tasty.

Today I made Thai Coconut Chicken soup for tomorrow's dinner and Orange White Chocolate Chip Cookies for DS and family. Tomorrow it will be Martha Stewart's Cheese Sticks also for DS and family.

I opened a can of Hormel chili tonight I bought an air fryer today for 18.50. Now I have to look on how to use it and recipes. I bought it at Hospice thrift store/

Fried shrimp last night. Don't know about tonight. Maybe just a BLT.

I bake every weekend as on Mondays I take in a batch each of two different items for my fellow staff to snack on through the week. Last weekend I made Ginger cake with extra candied ginger and brownies with pecans. This weekend I intend to make vanilla slices and lamingtons, and a batch of beef vegetable soup, lamb shanks with barley and beef stew for DH and I.

It's a colleague's birthday this week so I've made a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake to celebrate after work today, and two litres of pouring custard to use in a class experiment today.

Yesterday I made a big pot of ham and bean soup. I made a smoked ham for Thanksgiving, along with my turkey and made both Turkey soup (on Sunday) and the smoked ham soup yesterday. I also started making "bitterballen". It's a Dutch treat. I still have to rolls the balls and roll them in fine bread crumbs then freeze them, but I'll do that part tomorrow night. I'm too tired from work right now.

I'm making a mixed berry crisp tonight, one for us and one for the neighbor who brought clam chowder and croissants, dropped that off one night last week. Hope it will be OK. I've made it with blueberries, blackberries (many, many times with blackberries), or raspberries but what I have is a bag of Costco mixed frozen berries + cherries and I haven't used those before.

An unsuccessful cioppino. I TOTALLY should've measured the wine. Dang! But the scallops and shrimp were amazing.

I'm making vegetable beef soup. I have some leftover roast plus odds and ends out of the fridge. I'll bake some cornbread to go with it.

Too hot to do much cooking for the next couple of days, but I am going to strip my basil plants and make pesto for us and maybe the neighbors.

It's kind of funny, even though they had a decent sized garden where they lived before the 2017 fires, they are always amazed when I bring over home made/home grown stuff!

The kitty corner neighbor has about 1/2 acre and a small garden. I don't think he goes anywhere near a kitchen or a grill! I brought him a couple of purple cherokee tomatoes and a couple of peaches and told him how to grill peaches and drizzle with balsamic and he just about flipped! Said he had never liked tomatoes and had the best BLT EVER, and swooned about the grilled peaches his wife made! ;) LOL

Latest baking was Dutch apple pies on Sunday. My younger DD volunteered me to make two pies for a fundraiser (yes, even during covid code red, pies are selling at the monthly auction), and my sister had brought me a bag of apples from the local orchard. I made four apple pies and rolled the scraps for a cherry pie (canned filling, but it was so good).

While the oven was on, elder DD put in a pot roast. Yesterday, I used the last of the pot roast to make beef vegetable soup, with squash and zucchini, since all the potatoes were used in the pot roast.

Nothing fancy. I made SO 2 cheeseburger sliders and some fries before I went to work. Oh, and some cinnamon rolls from a can.

For me, diet food. Chicken breast and broccoli...........

3 loaves of banana nut bread (shared 2 loaves) and home made tomato soup. Yummy!

I baked a loaf of 100% whole wheat bread today, and tomorrow I will make pizzas.

I made my huge crockpot of chili Wednesday to freeze, and then cooked and canned 10 quarts of homegrown tomatoes Thursday

I also cooked a small part of a chuck roast and onions, potatoes and some of my home grown carrots and or parsnips. That turned out good cooked in the electric pressure cooker. I have enough left for at least 3 more meals!

I made 3 batches of muffins, banana, Morning Glory sans nuts, and blueberry. I am going to DDs today and will take her the larger share of each batch.

For dinner last night, I made Chicken Cream Cheese Soup. DH needs to put on a bit of weight. (He’s losing it, I’m finding it!)

I made chicken/wild rice soup last week and had so much left-over cooked wild rice. So yesterday I made wild rice/cranberry bread. Also made meat loaf, which I had not made in years, along with German red cabbage Mmmmmm!

Already cooked pinto beans ,cornbread, made coleslaw, cherry pie, will fry chicken livers in a bit. Love meals that take me back to my country roots.

I have beef vegetable soup simmering today. I will give a lot of it to my son in law to take to work for his lunches.

I made wings yesterday in the air fryer I just bought. First time I have used an air fryer and it was amazing!

Dried butter beans, biscuits, tossed salad, baked chicken, and I kept trying to lose the thought; but I could not resist making Glenda’s chocolate cake . Great that hubs and I walk quite a bit. The plus is that I now make it in a divided pan and share the other half with my neighbor.

Stromboli with Italian suasage, bulk sausage and burger. It was a hit for sure. Did not have any leftover. We had guests over.

Marilyn_Sue.....does your daughters chili soup just have more water in it? I used to buy Campbells version years ago and loved it!

I baked chocolate chip cookies with squares of chocolate. I tried a new recipe, but....I added 1/4 cup more flour for high altitude. Shouldn't have. ☺ Tasty, but too puffed up.

Made shortbread dough and pie crust today for the freezer.

I just bought the ingredients to try the Split Pea Soup With Crispy Kielbasa from Ina G's new book. I've been using the Silver Palate recipe for years. Hard to imagine anything better but we'll see. One problem is it's still pretty warm here for soup.

I decided to hold back some of the crab I bought for the cioppino, and made crab cakes with it. On brioche slider buns. Mmm

Yesterday morning I made banana nut bread from my grandmother’s recipe. It was so good nice and warm with a cup of coffee. I bake it in a tube pan as she always did. I sliced most of it tonight and wrapped it individually for DH to take with him tomorrow for the crew he volunteers with at the Botanical Garden. We ate about a quarter of it.

I also made chicken soup with orzo and we had leftover soup tonight.

I was running out of bread so I made an Irish Soda Bread...so quick, easy and tasty.

Nicole, chili soup does not have water in it, it has either tomato juice or V-8 juice, diced tomatoes, onions, sweet or hot peppers, hamburger, a very flavorful chili bean like Bush's Chili Magic, chili pepper, can put in cumin, red beans, and let simmer with some cooked pasta such as cut spaghetti or elbow macaroni simmering in with it. Of course salt and pepper. Not so much pasta as it would be way too thick unless you like it that way, but then it isn't really soup.

Experimental 1/2 batch of October Cookies, substituting a gluten free flour blend for regular AP flour. Results were a more crumbly cookie but definitely edible. Not sure what the other differences were because it has been so long since I made that recipe. Which is probably a good thing because the GF version is acceptable to me.

I have a really nice big chicken roasting in the oven with potatoes and onions. Making rice for the gravy.

I made a spinach casserole, basically using my grandmother’s and mom’s recipe for spanakopita filling. I just baked it crustless in a casserole. I had a hankering for the taste and didn’t want to deal with fillo. It’s easy to warm up pieces in the microwave, and I’ve found that it does OK when frozen in individual servings.
