Yup. We're installing Mannington laminate right now and love it so far. It's a medium/dark handscraped look; due to the variation in tones throughout the plank, I think it will hide any dirt quite easily...although I expect I'll be careful to sweep often. Our cat slides on it - isn't able to dig her claws in when she jumps! We're a little disgusted by the carpet that we're removing - it *looks* clean, and we were very careful with it, taking off shoes in that room, etc. But we still had to use spot remover occasionally (cat stains?) and can now see stains on the bottom of the carpet. Our laminate is rated 25 year residential/5 year commercial; we got it through an online source at 3.09 sq/foot, which is less than we would've paid through a "real" store.

MCM and Contemporary homes often have select grade White Oak finished in a natural finish. Black Walnut is also very popular. Are you finding something similar in the Mohawk brand?

appreciate @SJ McCarthy agreed wood is wood. I've had cork before from prior owner, several residences ago and it is warm underfoot but not for us. Not sure if cork was maintained well or not but it wasn't in great shape when we bought that house so we had the discolored cork floor professionally removed and replaced with HW. Fridge water line and later on Fridge leaked in the back, needed wood floor replacement, not planning on wood in our next home (no Laminant/Engineered either after trying Laminant in our next residence (moisture caused swelling of the Laminant planks)). Engineered planks had cupping due to moisture by kitchen appliances.

We haven't liked any LVP due to the matte finish and low profile. We think, from research, the mohawk water resistance (marketed as waterproof) line of revwood plus is a great option for us (but would love opinions and reviews). However, the only color sample we liked was edgewood copper oak and it's not love, but likeable. We love the colors of their engineered hardwood line (and the shine that comes with it!). Java birch primary or coffee Hickory. It says aluminum oxide finish which is what the better lvp use so wondering if we can consider engineered hardwood even though we have dogs, young kids, etc. It is not water resistant and this will be our whole main floor, including kitchen (but downstairs bath would need a different floor...probably lvt). Thoughts/advice?
