Thanks christophern, I will do that. After everything dried yesterday I went around and tagged every holiday with a tiny piece of blue tape so I'll know exactly where to go for touchups. My ceiling looks like a planetarium with blue stars! It annoys me that I did that much work and the paint wasn't getting deep enough in so many places.

If possible if the offer hasn't been accepted yet, quickly ask to add in a provision for a $1000 - $2000 cash rebate after sale has gone through to get your walls and ceiling redone professionally, get a rough quote for the cost to make sure you get enough, what we did was offer their asking price with a $5000 rebate condition when sale was final to enable us to get the yard colorbond fenced, the sellers were happy to get bragging rights of sale at listed price and we got our fence with no extra cash outlayed. as a cleaner the thought of having any kind of textured walls horrifies me due to maintenance dusting cleaning etc, a lot more work as far asa washing walls goes, but sweeping fortnightly extends cleaning times.

If the wall feels clammy, especially at corners or anywhere the durabond is thickest, you need to wait. Nothing can stick to damp compound. It will take the longest to dry where it is coolest and has the least air movement, so a fan and space heater can really help. The unical by itself was ready to paint in 24 hrs as a veneer plaster, I'm really only concerned about the durabond areas. Casey

Whoa, that’s pretty noticeable! The only time I dealt with figuring out what to do after popcorn ceiling removal was in our previous home, the painters got the ceiling as consistently smoothed as they could before priming and painting bright white. There were a few spots they had to fix during the touch up - I was relieved to see that the popcorn hadn’t been hiding terrible builder drywall work. The walls were still lightly ‘orange peel’ but not so much that it created an obvious line of demarcation. Maybe you could try lightly sanding where the wall and ceiling meet?
