Master bathroom/closet layout
Comments (6)What is the purpose of the wall unit in the hallway that leads to the bedroom door? I got rid of that, so if it's necessary, you can simply ignore my plan. There are a few things I did: 1) As stated, I got rid of the wall unit in the hallway outside the bedroom door. It does a few things, one of them is increasing your closet space which was one of your complaints. Though I didn;t move it in my rendition, whatever that shelving thing is in the closet, I'd put it on the right closet wall, opposite the "tie rack". 2) I moved the actual bedroom door out to the front of that hallway. Moving the door further away from the bed will help isolate kitchen sounds from transmitting to the sleeping area. 3) I moved the closet entry from the bathroom into that same hallway that is now inside the bedroom. It brings your closet closer to the laundry and increases the usable space in the bathroom. 4) In the bedroom, I lengthened your wall unit that is opposite the bed. I lengthened it on both ends. This made it symmetrical with the bed, and to a slight extent the added storage here may make up for the loss of the wall unit I deleted in the former hallway. 5) I got rid of the double doors into the bathroom. 6) In the bathroom, I moved things around. It's not perfect, but this five minute revamp provides you with a: - larger shower - pony wall to partially hide the toilet - toilet next to a vanity - laundry near the bathroom entry door - the option of a slightly longer vanity It may not be what you're looking for, but it's another perspective. Comments (2)I don't see how a tub would fit too, short of putting it where the dresser is. I don't think you'd want to bathe in the closet though :-) I would suggest not having the only shower entrance via the WC. What if you switched the shower and WC, and had them both open into the bathroom, but keep the second door by the toilet to open into the bedroom? Then you could slip in to, uh, you know, then go out the other door to access the sink, then back to bed. Looks very nice, I bet you will love it!...See MoreMaster Bedroom, Bathroom and Closet too small?
Comments (27)When you build with the WOW and 4k square feet, (which sounds like a lot but is not ) . It is NOT when you give starring role /NEARLY five hundred sq ft of it to a great room in front of the entry. Another couple hundred to a "hearth" area ......and what will happen here is nobody will actually gather in the great room, the fire will be the traffic stopper. Then you give each of three bedrooms a "walk in " closet. etc Result? you are left with the master suite that seems ( is) out of scale to the wow in the middle. Also small scale kid/guest bedrooms. The only answer to this plan is to lose a chunk of the "covered porch" square off the kitchen corner, bump the master suite to flush with the kitchen exterior wall.Change the window, to two on the covered porch wall and center the bed between. Plan to lose the tub for a decent shower too. Adjust bath and closet , center the entry to those with a right and left side for each. Anything else requires a total overhaul of the plan. That would mean a second story with two beds and baths on a second floor. ..........a completely different house. But this much under roof on one floor, with allocation to functions as is ? Yup......this is what you get Bump the master suite....or build something else.. ( square off that breakfast nook in any scenario.)...See MorePlease give me your suggestions on master bathroom floor plan. Thanks!
Comments (0)Hello, We are remodeling our master bathroom that also connects to a small walk in closet. Here’s a little bit about the space: When you walk into the bathroom area, there is a double vanity on the left and open space to the right. Next to the vanity is a door that leads into the toilet and step in shower. Next to the open space on the right, there's another door that leads into a small walk in closet. The closet is basically to the right of the toilet and step in shower, separated by a wall. What I had envisioned is to break down the wall between the vanity and the toilet to open up the space. Then, extend the closet out into the unused open space. My dilemma is if we should reconfigure the entire layout and make the bathroom a little bigger and have a more narrow closet so that there isn’t a part of the wall jutting out, or just keep the existing width and extend the closet to the unused open space to extend the length. I’m also questioning if putting up a wall to extend the closet would make the entire bathroom feel smaller. I have attached some pictures and have drawn out 2 different layouts. Please help! Thanks in advance!...See Moremavsman26
