hot weather: how do you get your cat to drink?
Comments (13)One of my old cats use to love to drink out of a glass (I think she liked it an extra bit when she thought it was a person's glass of water). As she got older, had more health problems, and needed to drink more water, I sometimes got in the habit of setting a glass of water out somewhere near to where she was. Her brother loved to drink from a dripping faucet and could manage to get in the tub to drink out of that dripping. Sometimes I plugged the tub and then he would have a little reservoir of water to play in after a few minutes, and I could turn off the drip. Could or would your cat get in the tub? Sometimes they like ice and if you throw a few cubes into the water bowl it will intrigue them and get them to drink a little more. Good luck....See MoreWhat Are You Doing and How's Your Weather?
Comments (29)Spent Friday night with my two SILs, dinner (on them) at a nice Italian restaurant. We exchanged gifts. Saturday I put up our little (table-top) pre-lighted Christmas tree. I had a minor accident getting it down from the attic. The metal tree base fell and knocked me on the cheek, under my eye. So I sat with ice on it for a half hour. I recovered enough to finish assembling and decorating the tree. Made hero sandwiches for dinner for me and hubby. We got some snow (Long Island NY)- maybe 4 inches. . I shovelled twice so not much accumulated this morning (Sunday). Today I'll finish my Christmas cards and do some gift-wrapping. Not a lot of work left for me. I do enjoy December but I must pace myself, not do too much. This year I am NOT baking cookies. Too much work and I don't need to eat so much sweets and desserts....See MoreWhere Are You and How is Your Weather?
Comments (42)I am almost snap dab in the middle of Oklahoma. The weather has been the most awesome kind for this fall. It was actually the kind of weather I would love for summer, instead of the heat that was here, when I returned here in July. Now it turned 20 degrees cooler, well, maybe only 15, but it's definitely fall here now. BURRR! and only 62 at 9 AM this Saturday, November 5. Moni who is not looking forward to the cold of winter!...See MoreHow is Your Weather Today?
Comments (28)Yesterday (Sat) was beautiful here, deep in the heart of Texas. Not sure what the high was, probably somewhere in the upper 60's. Sunny, light breeze. So I washed the sheets, hung them on the line to dry and put them back on the bed last night. Heavenly! How I love the way they smell after drying in the sun on a beautiful day! I use the dryer for them all summer, hanging out in the 90 plus degree weather just doesn't produce the same results, just a dry dusty smell. Today seems to be more of the same, it's 70 out right now. Last night was in the high 40's, coldest we've had since last February. What a treat these few days have been after all the long days of unseasonably high temperatures we've had so far this fall! Rusty...See Moremorz8 - Washington Coast
